About Me
It’s like a story, a movie with images not shot. A kind of discographic novel, written by several hands, and also several voices... An original adventure which does not compile several hybrid pieces, but conceptualizes an idea of a sound, an open book on a futurist soul.
Following the success of the first Grand Tourism’s album, called Le Surboomer, Fakir Music urged his favorite musicians to deepen some artistic encounters that occurred thanks to this experience: personalities from all over the world, DJs and songwriters singers such as Angie B., Tanya Michelle, Awa, Margeaux Lampley, Mihai Campaneanu, Lorenzo...
Thus, this fully international project took advantage of the meeting of these very different personalities, coming from so many places, Napoli, New York, Paris and even Bucarest; Fakir Music gathered them for several creative evening-parties, inviting them to give together their own definition of an “electronic Rythm & Soulâ€.
Eventually, this resulted in a delicate alchemy, carefully elaborated in Grand Tourism’s Parisian den, Jim Clark Studio, a sophisticated sound laboratory.
Built as a vocal puzzle, in which each piece shows one facet, one particular aspect of the whole thing, Funkaroma album tells an original musical universe: a kind of blues dyed with electro and hip hop, partly inspired from a Donna Summer’s or a Barry White’s style, which drives you through an energetic but also sensual dreamy groove...
All along these twelve titles, Funkaroma conjugates sensuality with dance-floor.A brillant longbox two CDs with booklet included.Funkaroma volume 2 forthcoming 2007.
