About Me

7 Wyatts is one of the world's smallest bands. No...it's not a short band....there just aren't many in it. One actually. A person named Wyatt who writes songs, records songs, and plays songs. Yay me!
Lola: She was my Grandmother. I never knew her. She died in a hospital fire when my Mom was only 7 years old. Mom shared the story with me in depth a couple of months ago and I had to do this. Her last words to my Mother and her brother were "My babies" as they left her hospital room a few hours before the fire. They were supposed to come back the next day and take her home... This is for you, Mom. And thanks to Mozart for the inspiration.
Soundbite Society: The media. I don't trust them. They typically throw small snippets of information at us depending on how THEY view a particular subject. Way too many people depend on this for their awareness. Thanks to my brother Michael for his contributions to this song. Also thanks to: Al Gore, GW Bush, Keith Olberman, and Sean Hannity for the soundbites.
Holiday: A song that is a Frankenstein monster of a collection of riffs that just happen to fit together well. It turned out better than I thought it would. Many thanks to Bella for suggesting a melody line a few years ago for this one.

These Hands: My way of thinking out loud about the oddness of being carried around in a human body and how we view each other. As much as we like to think we look deeper than the surface, we don't most of the time. So much is determined by the physical features of the other person. We probably even act a certain way because of how we look. If I was twice as good looking would I be half as nice? (general shot at good looking people, eh?)
Sin: Why have we always thought the world is about to end? I don't know...but it's kinda funny to me.
The world has been ending for as long as there have been people to predict it.
So far, the doomsayers have a 0% success rate at predicting the end of the world. Not a good track record.
But we still line up to believe them, don't we? I realize my view here will go against what just about everyone believes. We really have a hard time thinking the world won't end any second. ...Like how global warming has been happening for over 150 years (pre-dating CO2 emissions by 100 years) and some are convinced it is going to kill us all, starting...any time now. It makes for good copy, headlines, government funding, and votes of course.
Place it in My Hands: A song to myself?
Brood: My sarcastic look at how so many musicians avoid smiling in photographs. And also how being taken seriously as an "artist" means you have to project anger, sadness, or some other negative emotion. Happy automatically means "crap" to a lot of people. That's too bad.
I am a dedicated Pro Tools user. I recommend it to anyone.

Band Members: Wyatt (guitars, vocals, backing vocals, bass guitar, drums, keyboards)
Influences: Van Halen, KISS, ABBA, Mozart, Alice in Chains, Steve Morse, Steve Vai, Heart, Concrete Blonde, Charles M. Shulz, Bruce Lee, and the Marx Brothers.
Ace Frehley made me pick up a broom. Eddie Van Halen made me pick up a guitar. Steve Morse made me want to play it well. Steve Vai showed me there are no limits.

ABBA showed me that soaring melody moves me more than anything on earth. I thank them for teaching me about myself. Heart and Concrete Blonde showed me that melody can rock. There is also something about the female voice that I like hearing.

Women of course have something different to gift to the art of music. Not better...not worse...different. I believe music needs to be created by both men and women to be whole. I love women musicians!

Thank you Mozart for making an empty room feel like a warm place. Did you prove there is a God?

Thank you Robert Malone and Allen Cabbage. You both made the garage days into joyous memories.

Thank you Randy and Michael Holland. I love you both. We played. Darn right we did!

Thank you Bart, Jeremy, and Anson...good times on wierd stages!

Thank you Bella, Izzy, Darla, Bobbi, Chris, Chris, Hedi, Dave, Paul, Paul, Mike, Mike, Carla. What a joy. What a ride. What a lucky boy am I to have played with you all.

I'm probably not done here...
