About Me

How in the world was such badass band name not already taken by the time Central PA's Letter Of Marque got to it? Quick backstory: A letter of marque was to the 18th and 19th centuries what a license to kill is to James Bond. Once issued by a king, the letter more or less gave pirates and privateers the right to use deadly force within the borders of a certain nation (or marque). The Pirates were above the law - and therefore able to pillage, plunder, and destroy to their black little hearts' content. Well, as it turns out, the band name was taken, but not by anyone who churns out the kind of savage grindcore these guys play.- Fly Magazine
