About Me

Sukia hails from Camarillo, California. The only released album is Contacto Espacial Con El Tercer Sexo (1996), on Nickelbag records in the United States, through Mo Wax in the United Kingdom, and Toys Factory in Japan. The second album "You Think You Really Want This?" or "Big American Cock" has not been released. The EP-length soundtrack for a movie by the director Eric Sachs, is unreleased as well. They have also appeared on various compilations. They take their name from an Italian satanic vampire paranormal porno comic book, which was being issued out of Colombia when discovered by the band at the local Somis burrito joint. Eclectic in nature, powered by analog synths and toy keyboards, rhythms driven by home-maker organs and casios, their music tends to drift towards the erotic. Produced by themselves and Jerry Finn (of Green Day & Rancid fame) with two tracks co-produced by the Dust Brothers, Sukia have gained a cult following from the release of the above titled album and also re-mixed versions of the songs "Gary Super Macho" and "The Dream Machine". They were nominated for "Best New Dance Band of 1998" for the Gary Super Macho video at the Billboard magazine music video awards against two 'N Sync videos. The infamous "Greek Cut" of the Gary video was played before the attendees. 'N-Stync won.
