Jeroen a musician / composer / sound engineer - designer.At the moment Jeroen and Gil Lopez, a fabulous guitar player, run the SubWaveStudio in Amsterdam. An audio recordingstudio for cd recordings, multi media, commercials, editing, mixing, mastering, composing and arranging. The SubWaveStudio has an excellent sound and nice atmosphere and is build in the same Studio where “Connect AV” is seated. Connect AV, run by Edward Smidt, delivers high quality AV productions, leaders, 2D / 3D animations, AV editing and music. Together with composer / producer Pieter Nooten they offer a complete package. Soundscapes, remixes, ambient, flamenco, classical, dance, funk, rock, world music… Jeroen is a skilled bass- guitar player, engineer, composer and audio editor with sharp ears. He composes tracks starting on the keys, guitar or slapping the bass, sometimes a whistle in the shower does it. If this doesn`t help some drumloops or just playing the banjo hit the right string and the flow of music and lyrics are there. An album with loads of funk and good music will show it`s front in 2007. All songs written by Jeroen but with many guest players. Together with Leoni Santander Jeroen is also writing songs for an album, containing mixtures of worldmusic and funky grooves, to be released in 2007. An animated video with the track Mama DC which is now shown on festivals in Austria, Portugal and Holland is a preview of what the project “Mama DC” will bring. On the cd Nubes Y Claros from Adrian Elissen, a flamenco guitar player, Jeroen provides the bass in two tracks. The album was recorded in the old SubWaveStudio. The solo album of percussion player Sahin During recorded and mixed in the SubWaveStudio will soon be released. The album contains influences from the middle east, latin America and Africa. With Victor Roshino, a flamenco guitar player, Jeroen is working on a flamenco coloured fusion album of which all tracks are written by Victor.From 1997 till 2003 Jeroen played bassguitar with the world music formation Bayuba Cante, for which he also composed many songs that appeared on the albums “Orunmila`s Dance” and “Cheba”. Another big influence in Bayuba Cante`s music was Praful as a composer and sax / flutes player. Bayuba Cante`s music is a mixture of traditional Yoruba songs left as they are but combined with funk, latin, jazz, and flamenco or arranged to a new hybrid. The group of ten musicians toured through Canada, Cuba and Western Europe and gained many fans. The title song Cheba of the first cd was being used as the soundtrack for the commercial of Dubbel Cooler.During this time Jeroen also played in the Tolga Emilio Trio, a mixture of Django`s Jazz, Rumba and eastern European styles of music. With the Tolga Emilio Trio he recorded the cd “Bohemia”. In 2001 Jeroen and Manolo Honkoop a very talented drummer and composer started the company AudioEmotion. AudioEmotion recorded various cd projects such as the second cd for the Tolga Emilio Trio; “Minor Moods” and the flamenco live cd of Adrian Elissen on which Jeroen also played the bass. AudioEmotion delivered many audio tracks and audio editing for company movies such as Coca Cola Enterprises, Living Tomorrow and various short movies shown on festivals within the Benelux. Jeroen did SAE student productions like “Oriental Dreams” and “Lou de la de lichter” with Simon van Trirum and he gave workshops composing and improvisation in Holland. On “Naked” the 12” dance version by Praful Jeroen hits the bass. Before the above … manymanymany gigs…and fun!
