Pace is a Somali magazine intended for the Somali population around the world. The ideological structure of Pace was conceived by Somali students - we thought print media would be a popular medium in terms of communicating issues that Somalis were facing in the Diaspora.So why the name PACE – for one, the word itself implies movement and growth. For us Pace stands for ‘people are connected everywhere.’ The nomadic aspect, our communal way of life demonstrates that. Despite geographical boundaries, we are aware of our people wherever they might be residing.Our mission is to produce journalistic pieces without extremism of bias on variety of issues that are of concern to the Somali people in the Diaspora and those back home. Our main goal is to produce a magazine that portrays Somali issues in format that emphasizes and utilizes information, usability and design.We report and produce content without prevaricating and refurbishing to accommodate traditionalists and invidious critics. Pace does not publish or promote the idees fixes of tribalism in any shape or form. We produce artistic, cultural, informative, insightful, provocative pieces. Our editors are open-minded, independent and free from chauvinism, sexism, tribalism, and ignorance.
