Rod Ball

..Rod Ball had humble beginnings. He was born in a Log Condo on South Miami Beach (a complex called SoBe LoCo).In high school, Rod noticed an article in the newspaper requesting extras to appear in “Lenny”, a biopic of comedian Lenny Bruce (a hero of Rod’s), directed by Bob Fosse and starring Dustin Hoffman in the title role. Rod jumped at the opportunity.Rod spent several years appearing as a background artist in numerous films until he was cast as a Coast Guard CPO in “The Island” starring Michael Caine, directed by Michael Ritchie and filmed in Antigua, W.I. This film enabled Mr. Ball to join the Screen Actors Guild.Since then, Mr. Ball has worked in dozens of films and television projects, 100+ commercials, industrials, music videos, voiceovers and stage plays. He has had prominent roles in the “Porky’s” films, “Caddyshack”, “Cape Fear”, “Rhinestone”, the “Miami Vice” TV series and many other films and TV shows over the years.Most recently, Mr. Ball is featured in “Bachelor Party: The Second Coming” (20th Century Fox, Jim Ryan, dir.) due out next Spring and "The Next Hit" (Indie, Antwan Smith, dir.) and has several other upcoming projects. He has also launched an indie film production company and written several screen plays.He enjoys his career entertaining others, making them wet their pants while laughing and dab their eyes while crying.
