••As with all good banana republics, the culmination of a successful rebellion in the spring of 2005, the reigns of power have fallen under the contol of one leader. In case of the El Presidente Soundsystem, Flow is owner, selector and engineer all in one. But even a small island state has to start at the beginning. The first contact with the ideology of Jamaican-Dancehall came for this young revolutionary, up to that point known as a fervent aficionado of hip-hop, in the early 90’s. At an event sponsored by the travelling preacher Shabba Ranks in 1991, the seeds of interest began to sprout in the future revolutionary. Shortly thereafter, his future comrades-in-arms, Roberto and Matthi joined his movement. After numerous mass rallies like the Summer Jam 1994 and long nights in dark seditious basements, that were used for secret speakers projects, the young sovereign state took form. The Levelvibes Soundsystem. In 1996 the founders set forth on their first official state visit to Jamaica where they left enriched with valueable experience for the homeland system. They also took home personally recorded messages from the established idols. Years of prosperity followed with events supporting and also in opposition to other systemes that pushed the revolution forward. Due to unavoidable private obligations, the pioneers let Levelvibes Soundsystem slowly fall and it is now only an outline on the show world map. Flow refused to let this situation stand and found a way to promote his ideological revolution. After many years in party exile doing self-promoted events in Göttingen, the ex young revolutionary found himself face to face with his fate and founded his own state in the spring of 2005. Performances in and around Hamburg as well as the first Reggae Dance ever on the beautiful island of Malta were the platforms for the successful state form consisting of Dancehall Reggae, Lovers Rock and Remix. Equipped with his own PA and the experience of 15 years of Reggae, Flow can now lean back and enjoy the view of his content party citizenz. ____________________________________________________________ ________________••Wie es in einer guten Bananenrepublik so üblich ist, sind auch beim El Presidente Soundsystem, nach einem erfolgreichen Aufstand im Frühjahr 2005, nun alle Machtpositionen in einer Hand. Flow ist Besitzer, Selector und Techniker in einer Person. Doch auch ein kleiner Inselstaat fängt irgendwann noch kleiner an. In den frühen 90er Jahren kam der bis dato als glühender Anhänger der HipHop-Bewegung bekannte Jungrevolutionär das erste Mal mit den Ideologien des Jamaikanischen Dancehalls in Kontakt. Bei einer Veranstaltung des Wanderpredigers Shabba Ranks im Jahre 1991 wurde das Interesse des späteren Revolutionsführers geweckt. Kurze Zeit später gesellten sich auch noch seine späteren Kampfgenossen Roberto und Don Matthi dazu. Nach vielen ideologischen Grossveranstaltungen, wie z.B. der Summerjam 1994 und langen Nächten in dunklen konspirativen Kellern, welche zum Bau von geheimen Boxenprojekten genutzt wurden, wurde der erste Staat in Leben gerufen. Das Levelvibes Soundsystem. 1996 reisten die Gründer das erste Mal zu einem Staatsbesuch nach Jamaika und konnten hier wertvolle Erfahrungen für das heimische System sammeln. Auch brachten sie einige für sie persönlich aufgenommene Botschaften großer Vorbildern mit in die Heimat. Es folgten Jahre der Blütezeit, in welchen man Veranstaltungen mit und auch gegen Brudersyteme unternahm und die Revolution vorantrieb. Aufgrund verschiedenster gesellschaftlicher Verpflichtungen der Staatsväter zerfiel das Levelvibes Soundsystem nach und nach und ist heutzutage nur noch gelegentlich auf der Soundweltkarte zu finden. Flow konnte und wollte sich mit dieser Situation nicht zufrieden geben und suchte Wege seine Idee der Revolution weiter zu treiben. Nach einigen Jahren im Partyexil mit eigenen Veranstaltungen in Göttingen sah der ehemalige Jungrevolutionär seine Stunde gekommen und baute im Frühjahr 2005 seinen eigenen Staat auf. Auftritte in und um Hamburg herum sowie den ersten Reggae-Dance auf der schönen Insel Malta sind Zeuge einer gelungenden Staatsform aus Dancehallreggae, Lovers Rock und Remix. Bestückt mit einer eigenen PA und der Erfahrung aus mittlerweile 15 Jahren Reggae kann Flow jetzt auf seine eigene Insel und ein zufriedenes Partyvolk blicken.
