There comes a time in every person’s life where they must choose a direction, this is inevitable. My Infinite Silence is a direction. There is a quote that says “Music changed the shape of the room. It changed the shape of the world outside the room; the way you looked out the window and what you were looking at.†This quote was by Bono while he was listening to John Lennon. Now it is near impossible to do what John Lennon has done but the over-all message is there, and it is the same. We want our music to change the space around you, even if its only for the duration of the song you are listening to.
My Infinite Silence was formed in the summer of 2006 by vocalist/guitarist Devin Stewart as a solo project. Its foundation was based upon a new direction after being in hard rock bands for over 8 years. A four song demo was recorded shortly after by Cam Ambrose of Brain Dead Digital which was completed in one night using one vocal take and one guitar take. A couple months later the song “Broken Without You†was chosen as one of the top five in a national songwriting competition (Canadian Radio Star). This was an achievement considering the other musicians/bands in the competition had been around for years. Since then it has expanded to more then just a solo project and is coming full circle as a band with the addition of Derek Murphy and George Ford on guitar and writing. What does the future bring? A new My Infinite Silence, A new full length album, and a wanting… We want to change the space around you.
