The first thing you should know about me is that I have a very adventurous spirit; always craving excitement. I'm often told I'm a study in contrasts. For instance, I'm a bit introverted, yet I sometimes enjoy being the center of attention. I can be a little shy, yet in some ways I'm bolder and braver than anyone you'll ever meet. Despite those seemingly anti-social aspects of my personality, I actually love to socialize.Although I'm an atheist, I am a spiritual person. I try to adhere to the principles of the Tao Te Ching & practice Taoist arts (Chi kung, Tai Chi, meditation). There is one tenet of Taoism I just can't comply with. The funny thing is that I told this to my [NYC] Taoist Arts instructor (who is also a good friend; we hang out), and she decided she agrees with me and is going to live her life accordingly, LMAO!
I think it's important to be politically/socially/ecologically aware and responsible. Being so makes me feel closer to nature, more in touch with the universal energy, and it deepens my sense of inner peace.
I love to read; I feel lost without a book, although, a tough crossword puzzle will do in a pinch. I devour about 100 books per year. (Mostly ebooks nowadays - part of my effort to minimize my "carbon footprint.")
Good Riddance, Bush!Let's see, what else...I'm left-handed (completed left-dominant, actually), I love political humor, dancing, hot yoga, Internet shopping (HATE malls), boxer briefs (wink), brunch with unlimited drinks included, and sweets/desserts with tea/coffee.I'm definitely a summer person. I spend almost every free moment at the beach. I spend the rest of the year impatiently waiting for summer to come around again.I work as a nutritionist for InVite Health. I also teach fitness classes (mostly Spin and Stepped-Up Kickboxing, these days) for the Synergy Fitness Club chain. I channel a great deal of creativity and expertise into my classes, and consider each one to be a work of art (seriously). One of these days I'll get around to making a short video introduction to Stepped-Up Kickboxing, a creation of mine that was featured in Newsday several years ago.
