When it comes to an art form of music called Hip Hop, there are many positive and negatives ideas that can derive from it. Instead of using the negative aspects of Hip Hop a young artist named Sergio Pacheco Jr has come to use it as a positive force in his generation. He has come to realize that a change has to be made for his generation that has heard and seen the negative sides of Hip Hop for so long . Sergio Pacheco Jr has made the decision to use his God given talent and to spread and evangelize his generation for Jesus Christ. Sergio Pacheco Jr was born the 9th of February 1981 in Houston, Texas. When first coming into the world the young artist faced many hardships. "I was born premature and with a deformity called a cleft lip split palate." "The doctors told my mother that I wasn't going to be able to live, my body was so small I fitted in the palm of her hand." Upon his arrival into the world in which God created now polluted with so much sin, Sergio Pacheco Jr faced the hard fact of having to get cosmetic surgeries to repair his deformity. "When I was born I had to get a surgery to repair the hole in my lip, I got a surgery when I was one years old all the way up to being three years old." "I've had five major cosmetic surgeries so far, the last was in Oct 2003 I was 22yrs old." While growing up Sergio Pacheco Jr had a complex about himself, got teased at school because of his deformity. "I never excepted myself, I always felt something was wrong with me, Man I used to hate to get teased." At a young age being without a father the young child named Sergio Pacheco Jr met His creator Jesus Christ. Influenced by his single mother who raised him, she told him about a God who loved him and had a plan for his life. "My mom mentored me about Jesus and still dose to this day, she told me and still tells me that God has a great awesome plan for my life." "I remember her telling me as a small child that before I was born she had a vision of me preaching, and that she told God she wanted another son again after she lost her first son in a miscarriage, so here I am a miracle of God.!" Sergio Pacheco Jr has grown up in the Lord since the age of 9yrs of age. He has blossomed into a man after God's own heart! Sergio Pacheco Jr, started his music ministry in July of 1998, upon which his bestfriend bought a turntable set. "I just remember me and my bestfriend so much in to the hip hop scene." "At that time I was walking with the Lord, but my walk was lukewarm I really admired the secular rappers and pop artist." "But that year also christian rap was so alive, I use to watch on christian television, christian rap shows and they inspired me to go after hearing and doing christian rap." In 1998, Sergio started to write and felt led in his spirit that God was leading him into the christian music ministry. "I just started to write and write songs I didnt know what I was doing, I just wrote." "God taught me how to play the piano and guitar, to read music without a music teacher, it amazes me." The young artist talent grew and developed leading him to do concerts around his area. Sergio eventually even became the lead worship leader for the youth at his church and also started playing the piano and guitar for the main adult services. " I just dont do christian rap, I also sing pop music similar to Michael W. Smith." All this music writing led to Sergio Pacheco Jr finally writing and producing his own album. The Album titled "Your Always On My Mind" is a unique blend unlike any other artist out there. It is combined of rap and singing pop worship songs, the album consist of Sergio Pacheco Jr's very own testimony, "As A Small Child" and other rap worship songs as the cover titled album "Your Always On My Mind. The album also consist of singing worship songs as "Oh Where Can I Begin To Tell" and "Jesus Christ Your So Wonderful". "This is my first album I completed it in July 2006, I defintely will be making more albums, as Im working on my second album now consisting of the same mixture of rap and worship pop songs, it will be titled "Your Love Is So Great." "This album will be a singing pop style worship album with some rap songs on itl. I hope defintely in the near future to eventually write for other artist as well as produce other artist. As we can see the hand of God surely is on this young musical artist who raps and sings songs that glorify his Lord and Saviour. Sergio Pacheco Jr may have came into this sinful world with many deformities but the God who never fails and never will has put him back together emotionally and physically. " Sure I was born deformed, taken away for one whole year at the age of 11yrs old to a shelter to live in a foster home, my mom raised me and my two sisters single handedly without a father, but God was always faithful and still is to see me through and has never left me and He never will, if He can do that for me He can do that for anyone, because He is love and in Him there is no darkness or rejection." The young artist Sergio Pacheco Jr's life is inspiring to hear about, he is like King David yearning to worship Jesus in all he does in his life as well as through his music the gift the Lord Jesus Christ has given him to worship Him and Him alone!!
