About Me

Dressed in many genres, Melody is a bit of a musical gypsy enjoying the fusion of different genres. Using Celtic, Bluegrass, Balkan, Jazz, Afro, and Rock beats to traditional music styles, she conjures up stories and melodies that have an old world feel with a modern edge.
Melody was a part of 1998's Song for Ireland, the spin off band of that--Myriad, Female celtic duo-- Syren, and currently plays in West Coast Celtic Group Kitangus.
A talented vocalist, rhythm guitarist, Bodhran and mandolin player, she is most noted for her pure angelic voice. Her songwriting skills transport listeners to another dimension. With the colourful artistry of layering, Melody likes to write songs with strong musical arrangement thus creating a musical journey that is never one colour or one avenue.
Melody's musicianship and stellar vocals can be found on seven indie Cds where she was an integrial part of the recording and producing process.
These Cds are: West Coast Celtic 1997 (Kitangus), Song of The Isles 1998 (Myriad), Waves to the Sky 1999 (Syren), Invitation 2000 (Syren), After the Mad King Dies 2001 (Cauldron), Into the West 2001 (Kitangus), Kitangus Live 2004 (Kitangus) and A jug of this/ A jug of that 2007 (Kitangus).Melody is currently working on her own solo Cd entitled Comes Love due to be released in the late spring of 2009. Comes Love is a solo project that includes some classic nostalgic Swing Jazz (Billy Holiday's Comes Love) and Old Country (Hank William's I'm So Lonesome) rearranged by Melody to compliment her orginal songs. All the songs fit seemly together to embody light swing, dark country and etherial celtic styles. words from Melody . . .
"I love music MORE than Chocolate-- even the good quality stuff--REALLY!"

Can't wait for spring

It is that time of year when all the winter "blagh" starts to get you down. It's harder to get out of bed these grey mornings and I am a little tired of step...
