Since its foundation in 2001, Quinteto Ãngel quickly advanced to one of the most promising tango groups in Germany. With extraordinary personal commitment, the five interpreters play a music that draws its intensity from the contradiction of stately melancholy and impetuously pulsating power. Their interpretations of traditional Argentinean tango as well as compositions of the protagonist of Tango Nuevo, Astor Piazzolla, prove that tango music is flourishing in Europe, too.The musicians coming together from the different styles of jazz, classical music and tango not only succeeded in creating an individual and unique style for their arrangements: but more and more own compositions complete the repertory of Quinteto Ãngel.The first CD “Danzarin†was released in May 2004.The live CD and DVD “Alma de Tango†together with singer Claudia Pannone has been released in summer of 2006.In September 2006 the Quinteto Ãngel recorded a new Studio CD together with famous guests like Luis Stazo, founder and bandoneónist of the legendary Sexteto Mayor and the voice of tango: Sergio Gobi. This latest recording has been released in December and is named: "Sábado inglés".
