Pastor Andre Darnell ClarkPastor Andre D. Clark was born January 22, 1978, to the late Evangelist Charles A. Clark, Sr. Missionary Janet (Cunningham) Clark. He is the fourth of eight children.
Pastor Clark received his education in the Buffalo Public School system, graduating from Kensington High School in 1996.At the age of 16, Andre gave his life to the Lord at a "Back to School" revival at First Missionary COGIC conducted by Elder Calvin Hollie.
After following the direction of God, Pastor Clark, in his junior year at Kensington H. S., helped start the Kensington H. S. Gospel Choir, later named by their advisor, "Voices United." Continuing in his desire to do more for the Kingdom, he started having prayer in the cafeteria during breakfast. During these sessions, they would also read "Our Daily Bread" and study Sunday School lessons. There were always the faithful that came daily. Some gave their lives to God and many blessed.In the summer of 1995, Andre answered God's call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He preached his first sermon on Sunday, July 23, 1995, at the Open Door COGIC #5. His message was "If You're Looking for a Miracle, I Dare You to Praise Him!"In the churches in which he has served, Pastor Clark has been to be a worker for the Lord. He has served in many capacities including Sunday School Superintendent, Youth President, Minister of Music, Usher, Praise Leader, etc.During the years Pastor Clark has been preaching, it is evident that with experience, and an ever - closer walk with God, time would only tell what the Almighty had in store for him. After a long illness, God saw fit to take Pastor Charles A. Clark, the founder of First Missionary home in December 2002. In March of 2003, Bishop G. H. Young, Sr. elevated Elder Clark to the position of Pastor over the work started by his late father.After much prayer, Bishop G. H. Young, Sr. directed Elder Clark to fellowship with the Stairway To Heaven COGIC due to there vacate pulpit. The first joint service was Easter Sunday April 11, 2004. Since then Elder Clark has led the church to spiritual renewal.On Tuesday August 10, 2004 durning a meeting of the church assembly Elder Clark announced before the Jurisdictional Prelate the name God had given him for the ministry God has Ordained. The New Direction Christian Fellowship C.O.G.I.C.Under his short tenure as pastor, souls have been saved, healed, delivered, and filled with the Holy Ghost. He has also started a number of ministries in the church including Youth Training Classes (Boys II Men & Ladies-N-Training), the New Direction Radio Broadcast (Every Thur. 9am to 9:30am on 1120AM), Follow-up Ministry, and a website among others.Pastor Clark called â??Shepâ? {short for Shepherd} by the member of New Direction also serves as President of the Evangelism Department for the COGIC WNY 2nd Jurisdiction Logos District and the Vice-president of the Jurisdictional Youth Department.Pastor Clarkâ??s vision is to beautify the church edifice, with a new roof phase one is complete. With much faith and willing workers, there is no telling what God has in store for Pastor Clark and the saints at New Direction.
