With those words, muttered by her heavily sedated mother, Broadway Brassy entered the world. The child of a gospel recording artist and an experimental hair stylist, Brassy's path was clear to her from the beginning. It was from her parents that she inherited her burning hunger for soulful music, her radiant and mesmerizing style, love of gay men and a healthy head of hair. But it was at the age of six, when leading a Freedom March against the oppression of preschoolers, that her fans knew she was destined for greatness. After studying rigorously at the Globe Theatre in London, Brassy returned to the United States to appease the Yanks once again. This curvaceous, first-class songster mixes styles of cabaret, blues, jazz, and her notoriously bawdy personality to achieve new levels of musical theatre performance. Maybe that's why the Pope called her, "truly a living saint. I wept." And James Dobson says, "If you don't like Broadway Brassy, you are probably living a life filled with deep and consequential sin." In her spare time, Brassy records demos for Motown Records (no, really she does). And she enjoys living on Broadway, NYC (brooklyn, that is). She can think of nothing more rewarding in life than to be an integral part of the groundbreaking cast of Big Apple Burlesque (www.bigappleburlesque.com), where she has the constant opportunity onstage and off to leave the masses begging for more.
