The oldest independent music store in Boone,NC. established 1967Grapevine Music and Video is an independent record store and rental service in Boone, NC located in the Appalachian Mountains. Since the 1960's Grapevine has been the source for music to the High Country and just about anyone who walks in the door.In the late 1960's Grapevine first started under the name 'Record and Tape Discount' .Upon moving to it's current location..corner of king and depot street...it was re-named 'Record and Tape Depot.' Then it moved up the mountain for a bit to Blowing Rock and the store had actual grapevines outside of it, so the new name, Grapevine, was born. After not faring so well in the higher altitude, Grapevine moved back to its King St. and Depot St. location.Grapevine offers our customers a selection of music ranging from bluegrass to rock to hip hop and more. We carry new releases across the board as well as used cd's and used vinyl. We as well are a video and DVD movie rental establishment. Our movies consist of all your favorites as well as foreign releases, classics, directors section, comedy and new releases on VHS and DVD.We now consist of four individuals who work around the clock to keep our store in tip top shape to offer you a great independent record store, an alternative to the corporate and chain music stores. We are locally owned and operated, keeping our feet wet and our powder dry.
