Caiti Allison is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter from White Bear Lake, MN. She has been writing since age six, and really got the musical bug when she got voice lessons for her sixteenth birthday and started competing. She made it to the finals of the Anoka County Fair talent contest in 2005, and the Hennepin County Fair talent contest in 2006. In 2008, she was a regional finalist for the NBC show 'Nashville Star' and got to travel to Milwaukee, WI for regionals and Austin, TX for the national, pre-TV round. Her 'Nashville Star' journey ended there, but she has been keeping busy playing shows locally.
Starting in 2006, Caiti started playing with local group High and Dry. They parted ways in May of 2008, and Caiti recently had the privilege of playing with them again during the festivities for the 2009 Governor's Fishing Opener downtown White Bear Lake. Caiti spent about two years, from October 2006 to late September 2008, as a house musician at several Potbelly Sandwich Works restaurants around the Twin Cities area. She spent the summer of 2008 singing and dancing as an entertainer at Como Town amusement park in St. Paul's Como Zoo. In January 2009, transferred to McNally Smith College of Music in downtown St. Paul, and she is taking in all the musical culture she can there while pursuing her BA in Music Business.
Caiti's influences are many and varied. She credits such artists as Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Joni Mitchell, Etta James, Harry Chapin, Gwen Stefani/No Doubt, Annie Lennox/Eurythmics, Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Janis Joplin, Bessie Smith, Trisha Yearwood, Pink, and many more with shaping the way she sings over the years.
