After performing sold-out shows to wrap up their 2004 Livin' It Up Tour, an atmosphere of excitement fills the band's rehearsal studio while Fine By Me prepares for their next tour come January. By winning the 41st Annual Hayward Area Recreation And Park District Battle Of the Bands, Fine By Me was able to perform live on the television show Impact and take advantage of prizes to help them on their 2004 tour. Gigs extended from the SF Bay Area to Southern California, where Fine By Me performed at acclaimed venues like The Whisky A Go-Go and The Roxy. Selling more than 1,000 self-produced copies of Livin' it Up, fans have shown more support than ever by requesting songs to be played on local airwaves. Currently Fine By Me is writing and recording songs for their next album. Its first single, "Turn Around" has already been played on local stations. The next tour will start in January to launch the new album. In March of 1999, four young Bay Area musicians came together to form what would become a driving force of rock music that impresses observers no matter what musical preference. In fact, most audience members are astonished that Fine By Me can perform with such passion, excitement, and visual dynamism, while staying completely focused on their musical dexterity. Prior to their 2004 tour, the band experienced four years of playing every venue in the Bay Area, released three EPs, and cultivated a sound that would prepare them for a path of determined success. The current lineup has launched a course for Fine By Me that will take them to new heights on a national and hopefully even worldly level. Bob Mathre, vocals and guitarist, 21, with influences ranging from Motown to Superdrag, composes pop/rock formations that leave the listener craving for more. His colorful harmonic melodies fuse perfectly with the torrid lead guitar riffs played by Jeff Collins, 21, whose influences include Weezer and Sublime. Bob and Jeff had played/created music together since they were 13, which formed into an unmatched artistic relationship between the two musicians. The search for the ideal drummer resulted in a few lineup changes: Anna Kremenliev, the first drummer, was exchanged for David McCullough due to differences in musical visions in June 2002. Alex Curran later replaced David in February 2004, because the band wanted a drummer who is as dedicated as the rest of its members. The potent energy of Fine By Me's rhythm section generates an exhilarating vibe as assembled by drummer Alex Curran, 22 and bassist Veronika Safarova, 21. Alex's drumming inspirations range from Led Zeppelin to Rage Against the Machine, and he was an experienced jazz drummer prior to joining Fine By Me. Veronika is greatly influenced by jazz/fusion bassists, and artists like Bjork and The Cure. After leaving behind the clarinet, she started out in a female rock band playing bass, which luckily went nowhere so that she could offer her talents to her present band. The artistic contributions of each musician in Fine By Me builds an arrangement of cool, intoxicating indie rock, full of emotive lyrics and intricate musical textures, that will no doubt impress the listener while they witness the band's intense excitement on stage.
