The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, we have wider freeways but narrower viewpoints, we spend more but we have less, we buy more but enjoy less, we have bigger houses and smaller families, more conviences but less time, we have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge but less judgement, more experts yet more problems, more medice but less wellness, we drink too much, smoke too much, eat too much, spend to recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get too tired, read too little, and watch too much TV. We have multiplied our possesions but reduced our values, we talk too much, love too seldon and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living but not a life, we've added years to life but not life to years. We've been to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to say hi to a new neighbor. We conquer the outer-space but not the inner-space. We've done larger things but not better things. We've cleaned up the air but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom but not our prejudice. We write more, learn less, plan more and accomplish less. We've learn to rush but not to wait. We built computers to hold more information to produce more copies but we communicate verbally less and less. These are times of fast food, slow digestion, big men with small characters, big profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorces, fancier houses with broken homes. Remember to spend some time with your loved ones because they are not going to be around forever. Remember to say a kind word to someone that looks up to you in awe, because that little person will soon grow up and leave your side. Give a warm hug to the person next to you because that is the only treasure from the heart that doesn't cost a cent. Remember to say I Love You to a loved one/family/friends but most of all, mean it. Remember to hold hands and cherish that moment because one day, that person will NOT be there again. Give time to love, give to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. Don't just live life to the fullest, but make it mean something.
