About Me

I am a (part time) artist from the UK. Was professional since 2000 but got tired of working from home and never seeing or interreacting with anyone!!!! So a few months ago I went out and got myself a couple of jobs :-)
I now work part-time at a very well known UK High Street health food store (H&B) which I LOVE. I'm ...... er ...... quite outgoing, so love chatting, interacting, helping and basically having a laugh with customers!
On a more serious note I also work on a Mental Health crisis line for sufferers and parents of sufferers with Mental Health problems.
Mostly only do commissioned artwork now though. I call my type of artwork 'Funky art Style'. You will either love or loathe it - In yer face / bold line / bright (flourescent / neon) colours.
Can't really post that much of my art because I mainly do male / female nudes and MySpace won't let me show em! I do have a few things available on a gallery website tho - Access by going to www.gailmiller.com and click on the link for paintings.
As you can see I am 46! (IGNORE that folks - I am FORTY :-)))))
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I have two kids; One a bleeding genius at University in Coventry studying Computer Science and Electronics (or something like that), A Daughter; 11 going on 21 who just wants to PARTY!!!!!
I live in Bridlington, although I am from West Yorks originally. Yorkie through and through - If you don't like my down to earth Yorkshire manner then it's a bit of bad luck you're having! :-)))))

My Interests

Art (of course) interior design, Folk / Celtic / Roots music.

I'd like to meet:

NO OFFENCE FOLKS ... but I would only like to meet other artists, musicians or anyone into folk / roots music etc, if that's OK.

Music:

UK Folk Revival stuff .... (spent the whole of my 4 years at Trent Poly in Nottingham, at Folk Clubs (from 1997-1981) and bloody LOVED it. During that time I saw such greats as Martin Carthy, Nic Jones, June Tabor, Vin Garbutt, Dick Gaughan, Battlefield Band, Paul Brady, Andy Irvine, Maddy Prior, Jez Lowe .... you know, that lot. So it was well worth it
:-)))))))))
Saw loads more live as I spent most of my Summers at festivals ... THOSE were the days!
These days, (GOD MAKING ME FEEL OLD!) I listen to next generation artists such as Seth Lakeman, (You would - wouldn't you girls!), Yorkie sweetheart Kate Rusby, and ANY of the Waterson / Carthy lot amongst many others.
Still in love with Nic Jones, The Dransfields, Peter Bellamy, Annie Briggs, and the old lot of course though.
Don't listen to much pop music really, except Chumbawamba, The Corrs, Kirsty McColl and Nizlopi - Oh and I like (to look at) Daniel Bedingfield. Lust!
Although you WILL see me at the Karaoke! (eyes roll!)
Love the way Seth Lakeman is portraying folky type stuff as mainstream and Eliza to a large extant. GOOD ON YA BOY!!!!! (and girl)
