Album Reviews Gorgoroth-Ad Majorem Sathanas Glorium When I got this album from my freind at Metal Maggot Magazine I thought that I wouldn't like it, but when I listened to it as soon as I herd the first song I was hooked. The overall brutality of Wound Upon Wound just took me by surprise. Usually I like my Black Metal on the slower more melodic side but their are a few exeptions, like Dark Funeral's Attera Totus Sanctus and Ad Majorem Sathanas Glorium. I give this album a 98 out of 100 because i think the song order is somewhat out of order. Secrets She Kept- Requims to Midnight, Woe Buying this album was one of the best Black Metal investments I've made yet, it has inspired my new songs to the greatest extent. With its Brutal songs such as Damnation Black and As Darkness Falls, and its calm slow paced songs like Ave Mortii and In Mourning Again (which brings a haunting facter to the album), the album is perfectly balanced. I would give this album 666 stars and 2 thumbs up and more if I could but I can't. I would Definatly put this one under the buy catagory of your Black Metal album to buy list! Mysticism Black-The Dark Erudition I have been anticipating this cd's release ever sense I heard about it in November. As soon as I got it in the mail I ripped it open and stuck it in my stereo. This is another one of the best Black Metal albums ever to come out of the U.S.. With its solem keyboard intro on the first song and its solem keyboard outro on the last song, it just makes me want to worship Satan, this album is a definate buy. The Songs are ordered perfectly with the two heaviest hitting songs at the end so you feel that sense of power in the music. My Lord is an up beat Black Metal Anthem, and Erudition Part III: The Highest Order's got the feel that darkness is just flowing through Old Nick's viens. Aside from the occasional vioce crack the vocals kick ass. The drumming is awsome but some drums are quite like the snare. That is the only dislike from my point of view. the voice cracks add to the music rather than take away. Like I said before this is a definate buy and put it on your to buy list right now!Get the info on how to order here Dark Forest Productions
Show Reviews Almost is Nothing, Ceremonial Castings, and World of Lies at the Satyricon I went to this show to see Ceremonial Castings and World of Lies but I had fun watching all the other bands. This was the best show of Ceremonial Castings that i've been to, World of Lies played my favorite songs of theirs wihch was kind of cool. In my opinion Ceremonial Castings should have been headlining but Almost is Nothing was a worthy headliner, even though I hate that style of music. All in all a good show I got a chance to talk with Old Nick, Lord Serpent, and Bloodhammer while was there it was quite a fun show. I give this show over a thumbs up.
