About Me
Welcome to my page. Daily, I have random people that I do not know trying to add me. If you do not send me a message first, I will deny your friend request. Doing so multiple times will result in a block. As for bands that add me, I will listen to your music before accepting your friend request. If it's not my type of music, you will also be denied. Do not take this personally. By perusing my page, you'll be able to tell what type of music piques my interest. That is my biggest Myspace peeve, so please respect it.
Other than that, I'm a seemingly nice guy. My name is David, just don't call me Dave.
I am a 25-year-old finding my way in life. There's probably no way I can explain things about me entirely here, but I will try my best.
First and foremost, I am looking for friends only. I stay really busy with a full-time job, a part-time job, and I am also starting college in August. My busy schedule tends to rule out the possibility of seeking a relationship. Though I am not looking, if something comes up, then it does... But I refuse to force it.
My background: I moved to Tucson from Paris, Texas in December of 2007 with the hope of having better opportunities. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology that I obtained at Texas A&M in 2006. Less importantly, I have an Associate's degree in Journalism with a minor in Classical Voice that I received at the small junior college in my hometown (Paris Junior College). It's a huge change between degrees, I know. Although it was rough the first few months that I was here, everything is working out great for me.
Currently: I work at a wonderful psych hospital, building a network for what's to come in my future. In August, I will be starting graduate school at Arizona State University seeking my Master's in Social Work. My aspiration at this point in my life is to be a social worker.
My interests: There are so many. To begin. music evolves me. Most of the things I have learned within the past decade come from my expansive tastes in music. While I like a lot of different music genres, my favorite happens to be female-fronted metal. There's something about a great-piped woman that makes a wonderful band. Some of the bands I listen to are; After Forever (the best in my eyes), Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation, Virus IV, Ayreon, Therion, there are just so many! YouTube these bands. If you happen to find them interesting, let me know and I will provide you with a full list!
I like playing video games too. Although I have been primarily interested in RPGs throughout my life, I play other kinds of games as well. The only games I really oppose are sports games and MMO games. I'm sure I would find an interest in MMO games, but I would rather not have something like that absorb my entire life. I am currently playing SNES oldies.
As far as TV and movies are concerned, I hardly catch either one. What I lack in movie trivia, I make up for in music trivia. Shows I do like are Family Guy and American Dad. Their hilarity never ceases to make me smile. I used to watch American Idol until it took a turn for the worse. Also, Heroes is amazing.
When I am not working, I really enjoy working out. I do cardio and weight-lifting. I'm really not a big fan of classes (like yoga, spin, or pilates). I work out at the LA Fitness at Ina and Shannon. If you happen to see me there, don't be shy or hesitate to say hello.
Cheers,
-David
