The Stars (*) next to certain show dates mean we are selling tickets for them, so hit us up if you want one for the show(s)!
We are an energized post hardcore band from just outside of Detroit. We have been a band since November 2006, with a few additions and changes of members along the way. Since our "re-formation" in March 2007, we have been relentless on getting acknowledged and we have been succeeding in that thus far. We provide an intense live stage show that's so in your face, that even we know it! Safer Than Sleep includes Ryan and Nick on guitars, Derik on vocals, Paul on drums, Phil on synthesizer, and Anthony on bass.
We have shared the stage with national acts such as Before Their Eyes (Rise Records), Waking The Cadaver (Necroharmonic Productions), Emarosa (Rise Records), Mayday Parade (Fearless Records), Asteria (Broken English Records), Rediscover (OneBigSpark Records), Fordirelifesake (Thorp Records), and many others. We have also shared the stage with locals such as our good friends I See Stars, Art of Change, Asecondtoolate, Search The City, We Came As Romans, A World Away, and many other great acts around the area! We have also headlined St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit.

Safer Than Sleep Review
Autopsy Magazine
------------------------------------------------------------
Starting out with guitar work and synth sounding as if it were a music box, gentle and calming yet construct and hard hitting, then slowly following to the intro with a wakeup call on drums and lower heavier notes on guitar. Then enters Derik mesmorizing with vocals...THIS IS YOUR EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM...THIS IS NOT A DRILL...BAM! Right into the song. All in harmony they play. From it's differenciating vocal faction to the guitars, synth and drums perfectly replicating seeming more as one than seperate entities. This song is no less than memorable.
Across the 38th Parallel:
Beginning with a climbing intro on guitar and bass,it quickly breaks into a heart stopping competition between instruments and vocals.Drums and vocals being brought up in not only a level but volumized solo leading to the heavy yet haunting current of the majority of the song. The song reminds me of an unmerciless increased heart beat ready to explode just as it does in the song as Derik gets lower and lower with vocals, drums are melodic forte yet seperated and fast paced. The song I feel has influences of metal and electronica, along with other softer rock patterns evolved. This song ranges to a higher level of brutality then most and will keep you floored til the end.
So now that you've read this-Go to the next local Safer Than Sleep show!!!
Also watch for them on next summers Autopsy Magazine sponsored tour leaving June 27th!
