Geoff Knorr (b. 6/13/1985) is a recent graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, having received a BM in Music Composition, BM in Recording Arts and Sciences, and MM in Music Composition. While at Peabody, he studied under Christopher Theofanidis and Michael Hersch.
Mr. Knorr's first orchestral work, Majestic Whispers, has been performed by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. His Hymn for three cellos received a 2004 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award and was performed at the 2004 ASCAP Ninth Annual Foundation Awards Concert at the Walter Reade Theater at Manhattan's Lincoln Center. The Hymn for three cellos was also featured on The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies “Discover SAIS†DVD.
Recent projects have included composing, recording, and mixing a film score for John Poague’s Safehouse, a Baltimore independent film, and co-producing and mixing the first studio album of Baltimore artist, Cameron Blake, titled Over and Over.
Mr. Knorr currently resides in Baltimore, MD, working as Composer and Sound Designer for Firaxis Games, and pursing free-lance projects in composition and audio engineering.
