About Me

i was born and grew up in boulder, colorado. i tried university but left in 1929 and began writing. i was first published in 1932 in 'the american mercury'. my first novel,'wait until spring bandini' was published in 1938 and 'ask the dust' there after in 1939. meanwhile, i became extensively involved in screenwriting with credits including 'full of life','something for a lonely man','the reluctant saint',and 'my six loves' among many others. 1955 was a bad year in which i was diagnosed with diabetes which subsequently caused my blindness in 1978. That couldn't stop me from writing though as i continued to write through dictation to my wife and the results were 'dreams from bunker hill'. i am a verile 97 year old and can be found in a paperback near you, or, of course, here on myspace.
