Way Out Taxis

About Me

THE WAY OUT TAXIS. The Way out Taxis. We are brothers David and Andrew Francis. We are the Way Out Taxis. From the beer and spit of 3 DECADES of gigs in pubs and squats we bring you FOOTSTOMPING COUNTRY POP, TORCH SONGS AND FOLK PUNK. As a bonus we chuck in a scattering of early 20th century ANARCHIST FOLK SONGS from the GREAT AMERICAN (LITTLE RED) SONG BOOK. We mostly play songs we have written ourselves with the addition of a few made famous by the likes of Gladys Knight, Doris Day and the Velvet Underground. Oh and we always throw in a CLUTCH OF CLASSIC C&W CROWD PLEASERS for the singalong IN THE WEE SMALL HOURS.The strength of the band are the strong MANDOLIN AND GUITAR rhythms, the baritone HARMONIES STEEPED IN WHISKY and tobacco and SONGS OF INTENSE EMOTIONAL HONESTY.We play almost regularly in any of the BARS AND BORDELLOS of Hastings that will have us. Our audience are friends who are loyal enough to come out weekday nights to support us and the DRIFTERS AND BARFLYS that we are proud to call our consistuency. We are available at short notice to fill in at WEDDINGS, BENEFIT GIGS and funerals when your regular band lets you down.
