The We

About Me

The We originated in 2002 as a home-recording hobby band, in which bandmembers, neighbours and students Bertolf Lentink(The Junes) and Victor Heisterkamp could primarily enjoy themselves. Those early recordings often have a quite tongue-in-cheek atmosphere due to the excessive consumption of Mary Jane. More serious highlights of this period are the songs "Stay" and "Where are the stars that shine". The first being a kind of Stevie Wonder-ish song, and the second being a weird hybrid of all kinds of styles. The two have picked up recording again in 2007. This time with better mics, better software and more musical baggage. Important guidelines by which they operate are the 'more is more'-concept(e.g recording double-tracked harmonies on top of eachother as many times as possible) as well as the complete freedom to create very sweet, silly and soft music, not caring about being cool, rock 'n roll, hip or commercial. Not worrying about making a set of songs within one concept; even switching musical styles within one song. Because consistency is boring. They work very spontaneously; based on intuition rather than rational thought.Influences are ofcourse The Beatles, as well as Paul McCartney's solo career with Wings, and other 70's pop like Billy Joel and E.L.O.Three new songs which they very recently recorded are "Matter of time", "Once you find her" and "The way I love you now", which you can NOW listen and download here on Myspace. Very regularly there will be added new songs. MySpace Generators MySpace Editor MySpace Icons Icons Collage MySpace Blog
