DJ Kid Kraze started his DJ career in 1999 in one of the greatest places for any young aspiring DJ to begin: Santa Cruz, California. Kraze had an advantage, being introduced to parties at a young age and coming from a musical background. He was able to develop the skills needed to read the crowd and keep the party moving very easily with the help of mentors like DJ Chachi formally of Tapemasters, Inc. Kraze was brought up around music; being an only-child he was able to absorb all the influences from his uncle, radio dj and producer Marcus B. hailing from the west coast, and other artists he worked with through his early years. He used the knowledge he learned here to enhance musicianship and hone his skills on the decks. He began playing to crowds early in his career, spinning at house parties, school events, and sweet 16’s. Through persistency and devotion to the business he was able to land a spot on the well- known, ever- popular teen-night circuit on Long Island run by a promoter named Maddmatt. With the guidance of DJ’s like Chachi, Decoy, Cleve. D, and Spinbad he was able to craft a unique sound, combining music from all genres to enhance his style. Kraze has never been held down to one style of music, feeling a need to be eclectic. Having been recognized for his growing skills at a young age he was able to spin at 18 and older venues by the age of 16. His career was built on the knowledge he gained while working at these different venues. He spent time not only learning the music, but learning the technical work involved in making it happen. Now being teamed up with Concept Productions, run by soon- to- be Shady Records artist Concept, his career is just beginning. Appearing at record release parties all over with his team from Concept Productions and working in the studio with various artists as well as family from Concept Productions, he is always expanding his network. Working with some of the strongest promotion teams in New York (Floodtheclub.com | NYClubPromos.com | Gopartynow.com) he’s playing to new crowds every week all over the Tri-State Area.
