About Me

Rick Pickren is a descendant of Buffalo Bill Cody and a two time winner of the Marlboro Country Music Tour Contest. He has shared the stage with George Strait, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Joe Ely, (pre-folk) Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, B.J. Thomas and cowboy poet Waddie Mitchell. A member of the Illinois ArtsTour and an Illinois Humanities Council Road Scholar, Rick travels the state w/ guitar, harmonica and banjo performing his award winning programs: "Songs From The Lonesome Prairie" and "Songs From The Steel Rails".As an actor, Rick portrayed the role of Jim in the original Chicago production of Pump Boys and Dinettes and also starred in and directed Foxfire. He is featured in the films: Major League, While You Were Sleeping, U.S. Marshals and Soul Survivors and has appeared in many TV programs, guest-starring in The Untouchables, E.R., Early Edition, Turks and The Jamie Kennedy Experiment.
