Valderramas

"Certainly many people have heard of Carlos Valderrama. Then he was just a soccer player. But in 2003 he inspired the musical band called Valderramas.
The band is formed by Di (vocals), Cogu (vocal and guitar), Rick (guitar), Paul (bass), Lulla (keyboards) and Chris (drums) and it brings a unique voice combination that shows balance of melodies and personalities. The sound brings Brazilian rock with a brush of new metal mixed with swing and even hip hop. The songs are about politics, society, faith and a better future. The melodic rock blends strong tunes with influences of the 80’s such as psycodelic and electronic sounds.
In 2005 they recorded the first album called “Conteúdo sob Pressão” (“Content Under Pressure”) in the renewed studio “Toca do Bandido” (RJ) which has accepted Valderramas as their first independent band. The vocal director for the album is Jane Duboc and the Artistic Director is Tomas Magno (Skank, Detonautas).
In 2006 and 2007 the band performed for thousands of people opening live for main stream bands such as O Rappa, Detonautas, Pitty, Ira and CPM22.
The album brings powerful songs such as “Beira Mar” that fits perfectly as a greeting card saying: “Excuse us…Coming through!” and “Peleja”, a nice mix of music with the Brazilian way of soccer playing. If the preference is for alternative rock, then “Antes do tiro” and “Quinta 6/10” are good references. The day to day routine and will to become better are heard in “Nasceu o dia” e “Minutos de Paz”. Also, the album brings “Apenas um dia”, which became a video clip by the renewed director Richard Spencer, two-time winner of the VMB (Video Music Brasil).
Heavy chords and melodies bring a unique and original sound. Ready for the show the band arrives with no pretension, playing rock with their own identity and showing their own essence.
