Began playing guitar at age 13...My main teachers: -Winfield finger style champ. and Segovia protege Mike Chapdelaine... -Columbian born virtuoso Ricardo Cobo -Las Vegas legend of guitar Joe Lano (a true musicians musician!)Some notable teachers I have studied privately or had masterclasses w/: Angel Romero, Christopher Parkening, Carlos Barbosa Lima, Roland Dyens, Dusan Bogdanovic, Edurado Fernandez, members Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and Chuscales.Unlike the usual progression most classical or jazz players follow I was not a convert from rock & roll even though Eddie Van Halen was my hero! and my soul has always been with rock. I actually started on classical guitar (played electric on the side) and had a really strong passion the recordings of Segovia, Parkening, Bream and The Romeros that I was exposed to at an early age. The music was magical to me and through many 4:30 am rises to practice two hours before school (and after) I got really into it and progressed quickly. By age seveteen I was gigging very regularely... Later on suffering through the rigors of academia I began to listen to the little voice inside that loved classical guitar but also felt a very strong connection to just MUSIC and other approaches of playing. I have always hated labels and resist heavily the notion of being musically categorized. Aside from regularly gigging at corporate functions, weddings, and parties at the Bellagio, Wynn, Ceasers, and Lake Las Vegas....I also give solo/ensemble concerts around Vegas and the United States. Some performing highlights have been: Equitana USA in Louiville, Ky in front of over 10,000 people three nights in a row, project and performance with country mega-star John Micheal Montgomery, performing at the Guitar Foundation of American Festival in La Jolla, Ca.,Stetson International Guitar Festival in Deland, Fl. and Domain Forget International Music Festival Quebec, Ca. 2006 to 2007 I "busted" my gypsy rhythm, flamenco and latin chops with Las Vegas’s first gypsy d’jazz group in the tradition of Django Reinhardt "Hot Club of Las Vegas" ...with Mama Mia lead guitarist Mundo Juillerat, Carol Linnea Johnson on vocals who plays "Donna" the lead in Mama Mia , "Phantom of the Opera" bassist Chris Davis and latin percussionist Gabriel Sanatana Falcone ."HOT CLUB OF LAS VEGAS" Recent highlights include a concert at the 2008 NAMM show in Anahiem,Ca accompanying Conn-Selmer artist Alan Lawson and performing for a star studed crowd at grand "re-opening" of Robert Dinero’s new Las Vegas restaurant "AGO" at the Hard Rock Casino in Vegas.

Sometimes ..

Sometimes when pouring water into a bowl I image putting a boat in that water ..jumping on and sailing into uncharted land under a moonlight night sky filled with moonbeams of sorrow lined with hope ....
