Gary Gecko:

"Amazing, I didn't realise they made house this dirty anymore.. Anthem!" - FATBOY SLIM on She's Hardcore
“The shiny disco balls of 2006” MARK KNIGHT
Gary Gecko was Inspired by the smoke and lights of London's original sweaty underground scene... Danny Rampling's "Shoom" at the fitness center in Southwark St, Lisa & Nancy's "Loud Noise" and "Future" at The Sound Shaft, with "Spectrum" Just next door at Heaven.... for Gary, it was exactly that!
Stick a couple of weeks in Ibiza in with all that, getting amongst it under the stars at Amnesia and he was hooked! The sounds of Chicago Acid House Trax, Mr Fingers, Marshall Jefferson, Adonis, Nightwriters & co, blending incredibly with the Balearic anthems of Enzo Avitabile, The Wooden Tops, The Residents and Thrashing Doves catapulted Gary straight into the record shops.
Music had no boundaries for Gary after that and he found himself experimenting expanding the limits of House music (Musically of Course) Partying was and still is his favourite pastime and with the amount that man was doing then, he listened to a lot of music and built up an unbelievable record collection fast!
After what Gary called "an 18 month apprenticeship", getting his foot in the door at all of the top clubs and outdoor venues in Tenerife, he decided it was time to head back and assault London's clubs....only this time, not just as a spectator! Close friends Blaine and Barry Ashworth (now with Dub Pistols ) had opened De Ja Vu records in Covent Garden. It was while playing in the shop that Gary met Darren Emmerson. They went on to be residents together for more than a year @ "Foreplay"in the Gass and "Naked Lunch" @ The Emporium.
From then on, Gary established himself more and more playing in various clubs and events around London and the UK before deciding it was too cold for him in London SE3 and time to broaden his horizons and head for sunnier climbs onto playing Ibiza, Monte Carlo, Brazil, Hong Kong, Bangkok, & of course not forgeting the famous parties at his infamous Gecko Bar on the tropical island of Koh Samui, Thailand!.........
Gary's recent collaborations with Pigbwoy have resulted in an underground clubbing anthem with She's Hardcore which is out now on Toolroom Trax! Gary & Pigbwoy have worked their magic to create an infectious electro groove, receiving support & air play from Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim & Mark Knight amongst many others.
Look out for the follow up to Shes Hardcore which sees Gary & Pigbwoy teaming up with the controversial & hugely talented masked punk- ragga lead singer Feral of the band Cantankerous on their ska driven dirty bass mission with one of the biggest vocal hooks to hit the clubs this year...."DSKASTING"
With remixes coming from the hugely successful Dub Pistols, Leeroy Thornhill (The Ex-Prodigy man now with Hyper is back again on a Rocky tip) Jon Carter, the man who co-wrote club anthem "Double Drop" with Gary in 2004! And last but definately not least, Kriss Darang who just co-wrote "Express What You Know" alongside Gary in London. What an Amazing package of mixes this promises to be!!

Kriss Darang:

Kriss has his natural gift for identifying the needs and wants of all types of crowds through his vast Djing experience in the UK and abroad. He integrates cutting edge styles and future sounds to his Djing and production techniques. This combines to create a formidable atmosphere which positively influences crowds and those listening.
He grew up surrounded by music: his father ran Round House Records in Camden from 1977 till the nineties. Kriss’ musicality developed from an early age, and it was written on the cards that he should have a life involved with music.
Following a formal musical education spanning music production, promotion and business, Kriss decided to dedicate himself to giving something to the UK music scene - to produce, promote and DJ, holding residencies at SeOne, Fused and Kamikaze.
A partner in Just the One, launched in 2004, he has worked hard to bring a fresh new experience to house music and new production to the London scene. Kriss had bought Bobbi N Steve, Chrissy T, Oliver Lang, CJ Mackintosh, Jorge Jaramillo (who Da Funk), Bora Bora, Pushca and Lisa Loud to SeOne. Lisa Loud has also come on board with his business partners in this underground house club night.
2005 sees the collective to begin to push their boundaries, with Kriss and the rest of the Just the One family putting on parties for 2500 people and also organising the SeOne 3rd birthday for 3000 people which was a huge success. Kriss also produced the mix CD for the front cover of Notion magazine for the Dec 2005 issue. Kriss and Lisa loud mixed the CD back 2 back and it featured some of the biggest tracks of 2005. This sold 25000 copies sold nation wide.
Kriss is now overseeing the set up of a recording studio within the SeOne complex, getting a label up and running and continuing to develop the Just the One brand. By booking in a mix of influential and up and coming DJ's, as well as continuing to work on his own deep, twisted, jackin' house sound as one of the resident DJ's, this too is sure to be a success.
Over the years Kriss has played along side Richard F, DJ Gee, Tall Paul, Lisa Loud, Tim Deluxe, Bobbi N Steve, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Jose Nunez, CJ Mackintosh, Hoxton Whores, Groove Armada, Paul Jackson, 808 state and Kurtis Mantronix. Kriss also has his own radio show on Unknown fm 90.2 called the Just the One show, which broadcasts out across London and the worldwide web every Monday night 10pm till 12 am with listeners in Sweden, Paris, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the UK tuning into his trade mark sounds www.unknownfm.com or www.krissdarang.com for live streaming.
Kriss has done one remix to date for Universal records artist Slim Duttys Blood Puddles. Now Kriss is busy in the studio working with Lisa Loud, Gary Gecko, Jnr J and DJ Lewi on separate projects as well as his own Kriss Darang Project with his vocalist Diva T.
Kriss is a DJ with a philosophy that the sky is the limit. With ambition this lofty, it would be safe to say this guy has a great future ahead of him.

Junior J:

"Two of the capitals most groundbreaking DJ talents since ‘SASHA AND DIGWEED’ Whoops did I just say that?" - LISA LOUD
“KRISS DARANG and JNR J” A double act whose presence, schedules and followings on an individual basis command nothing but respect, but put these 2 boys together and it’s an altogether different story!
IMAGINE THIS... KRISS DARANG. Subliminal resident. Founder... resident DJ and musical director of London’s most underground club night, dedicated entirely to house music, the hugely successful ‘JUST THE ONE?’ call’s on his old mate and party pal, JNR J, A massive favourite with London’s “Dirty Party” scene, with a reputation to smash any after party, especially since the 24hr license was awarded!
(YOU DIRTY STOP OUTS, AINT U GOT HOMES 2 GO 2!!!!) Just the One? House! Was the perfect platform for this twisted twosome to show the capital what they were made of. An unsuspecting couple of bright young things, DARANG partied his way through the 90’s peering over the decks of idols such as ERIC MORILLO, where as JNR an altogether different story, whose brother 6 years his junior at the age of 12 educated his older brother the craft of DJ’in These boys have developed their own technique and ignited dancefloors with a sound to impress all but the faint hearted!
They’ve only gone and delivered a dance floor smash, currently sitting in anyone who’s anyone’s record box, with play’s across the world and responses filtering back to the UK, which quite frankly are TWISTING these boys outta shape.
Without realising these boys have perfectly set themselves up for world domination... Well they may have had some help on the tweaking, but on a musical and technical level I’m learning from them!!!! Lisa Loud AGAIN!!!!!!

Ed Kurno:

It has been a roller coaster ride for Welsh DJ supremo Ed Kurno. From his humble beginnings as a mobile DJ in Swansea, Wales to recently spinning his flamboyant house grooves at Shu Club and Hotel Electra in Oslo, Norway, he has always played with a passion and respect for music.
Having a Chilean mother, Latin and South American music often formed a background to his childhood and have obviously inspired his musical taste that includes styles such as French/Latin/U.S. House and Techno. Inspirational DJ’s include Roger Sanchez, Junior Jack, Ian Pooley, Olav Basoski, Robbie Rivera, Danny Rampling and Carl Cox.
Ed’s career began in 1996 playing small gigs at parties and bars around the South Wales area. Over the years his ability as a DJ matured and he gradually worked his way into bigger and more respected clubs until eventually he decided that he would set up his own night called Chemistry in Escape, Swansea. The night was a great success. Having all the right ingredients for a great event and clubbers at a capacity, Ed knew he was making an impact on the Welsh Club Scene.
When Chemistry reached its climax in 1999, he decided to start on a new venture with long-term friends Andy Kersey & Lindsey Martin. They linked their creative musical ideas to establish a new night called Creation at the Palace nightclub which saw Ed playing in front of the nights following of dedicated clubbers coming to witness his smooth mixing and individual style. Following the success of Creation, it was not long before Ed was getting bookings all around South Wales; in particular he secured a long-term residence at The Sanctuary where the highly respected Time Flies promoted his phat, chunky funky sounds alongside an array of established jocks. He also hosted the back room of the massive hard house and trance night Breathe, which goes from strength to strength across the U.K.
Ed got his break during a visit to the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2001 where the promoter of Analogue City Recordings heard his demo. They booked him to headline their launch party at London's premier underground venue The End, where he would play alongside the legendary Colin Dale. On return from his trip, Goldrush offered him a residency that was a phenomenal success around South Wales.
2002 kicked off incredibly as he began a new residency with the Old Skool night Rewindz playing classics alongside the likes of Slipmatt, Mickey Finn & Altern 8 and his own night, Freedom where even played a five-hour set. Back under popular demand, he played Analogue City’s second Birthday Party alongside the likes of Joey Beltram,Grooverider and Hype at Mass in London and was booked to play on the Miss Moneypenny’s World Tour. In addition, Strictly Groovy named him as a resident to their night that brought house music to Wales.
2003 saw Ed venture to Ibiza in a self-promotion vacation. He took residency at Bar Essenza where he held his own morning party called Sunrise with the venue being rammed week in week out with locals and tourists coming to hear his unique style and amazing live collaborations with Argentinean percussionist Diego. He also won a 2hr slot at Sun Sea and beat 12 other jocks to win the Plastik DJ competition to guest in Dave Pearce’s Night Euphoria.
The year was topped-off when Ed was booked to play the Smirnoff VIP tent in Escape Into The Park 2003 (the biggest Welsh Dance Festival ever). After the success of Escape Into The Park, Ed created a night called ‘Easy’ at Zanzi-Ba, Swansea. So far, the night has been a great success with guest DJ’s playing along-side local residents The Mad Professor and Gwith. He has also secured a bi-weekly residency at The Mambo Funk Experience at Mambo’s, Swansea, which is the perfect place to chill-out to his tropical blend of Latin Funk, Hip-hop and House. Further a-field, Ed recently played at The Shu Club, VIP Club and Hotel Electra in Oslo, Norway and where he will be making regular monthly appearances.
In 2004, Ed, along with Swansea DJ hero ‘Smiley’ Dave Holness and Djing wizard Jim Wakeham formed a new house night and promotional company called ‘Re-focused. Their first line-up kicked off with the party man himself, Brandon Block and continues with such talent as Mr C, Yousef, Lottie, Mutiny, Danny Rampling, Leeroy Thornhill, Jim Shaft Ryan and Paul Woolford, to name a few! With Ed playing as resident on each of these monthly nights, things are certainly looking up for the man already labeled as being a 'New star on the Welsh house front' (Ministry Magazine).
After the huge success of Re-focused with Ed being praised for his massive ability and showmanship by his peers he received bookings across Europe including. The Quartz Festival (Norway), alongside the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Ibiza, Club Code (Moscow), Club Rexx (Norway) & saw him Headline the Biggest New Years Eve Party Oslo has ever staged!
Ed has also started a weekly mix show on 96.4fm where his live mixes are broadcast to the South Wales Nation every Friday to thousands of listeners. He has already had offers from all over the world for 2005 and has had the following press given to him by DJ MAG
DJ Magazine on Ed Kurno playing His Club Night Re-focused with guest Yousef;
“Ed Kurno builds the night perfectly. Should Re-focused choose to host a string of resident only nights, Djmag can ensure you that the club is in safe hands. The music is sublime, tough, but ever so funky, and his ability is spot on. Keep an eye out for this guy.”
To top of 2005 Ed had just become official resident to the massive Pukka Up Promotion whom stage the most glamorous parties across the globe including Ibiza, London, Shanghai and at the finest of venues including Pacha, The Cross and Es Paradis. So be sure to catch Ed at haunt near you in 2006!

Alan Thompson:

In 1989 Alan Thompson was just another face in the crowd at the many raves and underground clubs in and around London. That is, until he bought his first set of decks. Inspired by the new sound of house music that was emerging, Alan started experimenting at home. Within months of teaching himself what a cross fader was for, he was offered residencies at two of the most legendary clubs in the world – Trade and DTPM. The rest, as they say, is house history.
As an International DJ, Producer, and Broadcaster, Alan has made his mark on the finest clubs in the world, has platinum and top 40 singles and albums around the globe, hosted a variety of radio and TV shows and has been a DJ in the skies for Virgin Atlantic - presenting the in flight dance show.
Alan’s ever evolving style has led to him being repeatedly voted the number one DJ in the UK, and one of the top DJ’s in the world by clubbers and media alike. While Thompson has proved his versatility and can adapt his sound to suit the occasion, he’s best known for his own unique style of undulating funky house. As Alan puts it, “I play 4 to the floor house music, sometimes deep, sometimes vocal and sometimes tribal but always funky… House music should be sexy, it should make you want to swing your hips and nod your head. I like to build my sets, drop a groove then come back with a big vocal. Clubbing is about having a good time, listening and dancing to good house music. My job as a DJ is to make sure that happens.”
It’s a job Alan does very well. As well as his residencies at Trade and DTPM, which he held for more than 10 years, Thompson has also been resident DJ at Defected In The House and Ministry of Sound in London and Ibiza, The End in London, and Le Queen in Paris. Alan is considered instrumental in the success of many of these clubs, which have received a number of accolades, including club of the year. He has also helped raise the club’s profiles outside the UK by headlining their world tours. As well as all of his residencies, Thompson has headlined at some of the biggest and best clubs in the world including Twilo (New York), Gods Kitchen (UK), Space, Pacha, Amnesia, Privilege, and El Divino (Ibiza), Zouk (Singapore) Ageha (Tokyo) Salvation and Groove Jet (Miami), 3-30 (Durban), Allenby 58 (Tel Aviv) Key Club (Los Angeles) Orange (Beijing) and Guvernment (Toronto).
Alan has been as busy in the studio as he is on the decks, having released and remixed more than 45 singles and 10 albums around the world. Not only has he released platinum and top 40 singles, he’s compiled and mixed for the cream of the industry, including Ministry of Sound, DTPM and Trust The DJ, with a number of his own mixed CDs being voted “album of the month” in music magazines.
With so many residencies, international bookings, and recording time in the studio, it’s surprising Alan has had time to enjoy hosting radio and TV programmes. But the man has not only found a way to present his own show, “A Month In House” on the Ministry of Sound network, he has also appeared on Kiss FM and the BBC’s Radio 1, not to mention presenting MTV Asia, Europe, and South Africa and Channel V in Australia, just to name a few. He has also made his way onto the big screen, appearing in the movie “Maestro” as one of the UK pioneers of house music alongside Pete Tong and Danny Rampling.
Alan Thompson has earned the title international DJ not only with the music he plays, but the many countries he has played in, including Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, China, Denmark, Dubai, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hong Kong, Italy, Israel, Japan, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the length and breadth of the USA and many more.
Thompson’s pioneering spirit saw him make the move to Australia in early 2004. While the decision to leave the UK has shocked many in the industry, Alan says living in Sydney won’t interfere in his work. “At the end of the day I’m an international DJ – my work takes me all over the world. So being in Sydney is no different to being in London, except being here opens up another part of the world. Australasia is the only region where clubs are still opening at a great rate. The dance scene across Australia and Asia is exploding, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”
In February 2005 Thompson recorded “Clubbers Guide To 2005” for Ministry of Sound and took to the road to promote this acclaimed release spreading his funky sound the length and breadth of Australia. Due to the huge success of this album Alan was recently commissioned to compile and record a new series of albums for Ministry of Sound titled “Housexy” a 2 CD house compilation. The first in the series was released in August 2006 in conjunction with a national tour of Australia and received great acclaim. The 2nd in the series “Housexy Summer” is due for release in early 2007.
Since his arrival Alan has played at many of the top clubs including Tank, Home, Laundry Sydney, One Love and Seven Melbourne, The Family Brisbane, Discovery Darwin, Halo Hobart, Heaven Adelaide and Fiction Canberra to name a few as well as headlining alongside Fatboy Slim for New Years Eve 2005 on Bondi Beach attracting over 10,000 people. He has also brought one of the biggest clubbing brands in the UK to Sydney, the mighty DTPM, which he hosts at Tank Sydney attracting capacity crowds. In October 2005 Alan was also instrumental in securing another UK club night at Tank, Sydney, Defected In The House, where he was the main resident DJ each and every Friday throughout the summer season 2005/6 and has built a loyal fan base with Sydney clubbers.
