HERE'S WHAT SOME PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
"THESE BOYS REALLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE MUSIC THAT MAKES ME WANT TO DRINK BEER AND GO TO THE LAKE" -Merle Haggard"THESE BOYS ARE GONNA TAKE OVER THE WORLD" -John Lennon"THESE BOYS AND ME DRINK BEER TOGETHER ALL THE TIME" -George W. Bush"I'M AFRAID THAT IF THESE BOYS GOT THEIR HANDS ON ME THAT THEY WOULD CUT MY HEAD OFF AND VIDEO TAPE IT JUST SO THEY COULD SHOW THE WORLD" -Osama Bin Laden (by the way, he's right about that)It all started at age five when Joe Jack's mother got him a acoustic/electrical Washburn . Years of performing prepared him for concerts and marching band solos with the trombone he picked up in sixth grade. After way too long without an instrument, musical interests turned to the acoustical guitar in 1997 when a self-purchased birthday present lead him down a red dirt road that has turned into a four lane red dirt highway. Music was on his mind again. Life began in the small town of Chico, home of the Dragons, where this songwriter was brought up in the middle of what makes Texas the state it is Rangers that wear a badge and spurs, farmers that grow food by the truckload, ranchers that drive cattle, hardhats in refineries, Friday nights at the high school football stadium, and four-wheel drive because you need it. While attending his 10 year high school reunion, Joe Jack ran into Bobby Wayne, his former star wide reciever, Slim, who was driving a truck hauling gravel to make ends meet, and Jack-o-motive, so named because of his job at Burlington Northern. They all decided to hit a bar out at Runaway Bay, which led to a barroom brawl, and the 4-some spent the nite in the Wise county Jail. During conversation while trying not to drop the soap, they discovered they all shared a love for the same music, and thats how The Red Dirt Rebels were born. Dallas is still Texas, but there werent many signs of home around here, so RDR set out to sprinkle a little dirt on there fans through are music. Youll hear the sounds of Johny Paycheck, Charlie Pride, Johnny Cooper, Hank 12 and 3 and CCR (the 1 and only with cody canada) when the RDR's hit the stage you will fill the pasion of are music. This style of High-energy Honky Tonk, Texas Country & Southern Rock has shown to appeal to a wide variety of audiences, from white collar to blue collar, from bikers to honkytonkers. We gained respect in the songwriting circles and made a bunch of friends in the honkytonks around Texas. We weret sure where this was taking us, but each accomplishment took us farther than we'd ever expect. After one too many requests to buy our CD (that we didnt have yet), RDR realized they got something people like. Come join the party! RDR is touring Texas, Oklahoma & Louisiana as a 4 piece band and has shared the stage with CCR, Brandon Jenkings, the Dirt Dobbers, the Jim Beamers, John Cooper, No Justice, Kevin Fowler, the Silver Bullets, Mark McKinney, the Stalling Sisters, the De-Horners, and the Goat Herders. It went from nothing to something in a heartbeat. Lets hear it for Texas Country Music!
