About Me
Eric “E.Note†Speese comes through the speakers with a velvety smooth sound reminiscent of vintage soul, but his sound doesn’t stop there. As you listen, you hear just the right touch of passion, experience, and street savvy. You’ve already heard E-Note bless tracks like Blutiful World with Spider Loc, but soon he’ll take over the charts becoming the hottest R&B artist anywhere. Witnessing E.note sing is like the building of a quiet storm.
“My voice is God-given first. At the age of four, my mother noticed my talent and nourished it by praying that God continue to increase my gift. †E.Note says. “At 11, I began to recognize my passion for singing and decided I wanted to sing professionally.â€
Influenced by Donnie Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, and Tank, to name a few, E-Note’s secret behind his success is keeping his music real and drawing from his own life experiences to create songs that are timeless and cross all walks of life.
E.Note began his life with an innocent love of song. He soon succumb to the gentle nudging from his mother and began signing in the church choir. In high school, Eric joined the Encore Choir. Encore was very successful and began opening shows for Gospel artists such as Hezekiah Walker and Mary Mary, as well as some Hip Hop acts including Rappin 4-Tay. This experience convinced E.Note to begin pursuing his career as a solo artist.
In 2005, Eric moved to Los Angeles; and the rest is history in the making. “I came to Los Angeles with five dollars in my pocket. My mom put me up in a Motel 6 for a week. I had a job set up, worked hard and by the end of that week, I got my first apartment. My job was as a tele-marketer that happened to be in the same building as the former In Da Game Records.†E.Note recalls. This proved to be more than mere coincidence and soon E.Note and In Da Game Records began to build a strong professional relationship and an opportunity for E.Note to pursue his dreams.
After linking up with P. Swayze, a veteran In Da Game rap artist, E.Note would meet In Da Game CEO Givenchy Martin. Martin saw the talent in E and started him off singing hooks and writing with label mates. As Martin saw that E was serious about the music business, he signed him to the label as the first R&B artist. His craft as a writer and singer matured, and his present schedule includes writing songs for premier artists such as Brandy, Junior, and others well known in the game.
E-Note is currently working on projects with quite a few rappers. Young Buck of G-Unit is one to name. In Da Game is preparing E.Note’s rookie project, which will be packaged and ready to present to major record labels by December 2007.
