Scarcity was born Richard Anthony Davies in Manchester 1986. Starting out as a drummer, Scarcity had an ear for rhythm, and eventually took the logical step into DJing and production. A love of Hip Hop, Drum n Bass & Turntablism gave Scarcity an increased knowledge of beats and scratching. After refining his skills, he hooked up with school friend Tommy K to create a team of converging styles. After years of DJing around Manchester (Font, Unity), he eventually moved to Leeds, where he met Joe Madigan, a film producer. The two set out on a journey to produce films and documentaries from around the world. 'Broken Record' and 'Blood Flow' were the first films which collaborated both director Joe Madigan and music producer Scarcity. The success of both films gave Scarcity the inspiration to produce his own album; completed in summer 2006, 'Discipline' aimed to break down the barriers between Electro, Hip Hop, Drum n Bass, Dub & Breakbeat.BrokenRecord
