About Me

Growing up in Toronto Canada, Bruce started playing the drums at the age of 12 after joining his hometown drum & bugle corps. He honed his rhythmic and technical knowledge in the drum corps activity for the next 10 years, competing throughout North America at the highest-level possible, and winning the 1998 DCI World Championship with the Cadets of Bergen County. This experience has led him to teach and arrange music for several high school, college, and independent percussion groups including the University of Miami, and the Boston Crusaders drum & bugle corps. Bruce caught the drum set bug at the age of 19, and it has been his true passion ever since. He has since earned a Music with Honours diploma from Humber College, and is currently completing a bachelor of music in jazz studies from Thompson River University.
Today, Bruce is quickly gaining a reputation for being a musical and groove orientated drummer who plays all styles with conviction, and always puts the music first. He has drummed on the Genie Awards, the YTV Achievement Awards, the 1996 Summer Olympics closing ceremonies in Atlanta, various ‘Vegas’ style shows on cruise ships, and at Canada’s Wonderland. In addition to his private teaching, he currently records and performs with a variety of musical projects in and around Toronto.
Bruce endorses Vic Firth drumsticks.
