Born Hesdey Lloyd Lonwijk in the city of Paramaribo, Suriname, I grew up watching movies from the Shaw Brothers (Shaolin) to the westerns made by Sergio Leone and John Ford. And of course: did a lot of playing in the sun ...Whilst fantasizing about becoming a pediatrician one day, the whole family of 5 moved to the Netherlands (age 13 then). And yes: IT IS cold and rainy there, but I persevered (thank God for umbrellas, central heating and summer vacations). In between that 'life' kind of happened and I ended up with and BA in communications instead of going to med school ...And then I fell in love ... I saw her, structured chaos, bringing images to live and awakening childhood memories ... Cinema! We met for 4 years at filmschool, I was amazed by Carax, moved by Dreyer and knocked of my socks by Cassavetes ... And theN: graduation day (Class of 2007) with honors (best film). Right now doing commercials, shorts and working on both a feature and a new serie for 2009.The time is now....
