THIS IS FOR CAIN R.I.P. My baby Cain was born on 5/24/06 and died on 7/26/06. We only had him for a few weeks but he really impacted our lives. He was a momma's boy! He started have seizures one night and we took him to the emergency vet. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. He died 20 minutes after I held him in my arms and told him I loved him. I miss him! :(
THIS IS FOR BUDDHA:: Buddha was a 50lb beautiful Brindle pitbull. I bought her from a flea market in NJ because there where 3 very scary men standing infront of the pen that she was in. They looked very shady to me so I ran over broke in between them grabbed her and look at my boyfriend and said this is the dog I want. At that time we were not looking for a puppy at all but I was afraid of where she might end up. She was 8 weeks old and I took her to visit my mother in Pa. We had to go to a funeral so I left her in her crate at my mothers house. My younger step brother was home but I advised him to leave her in the crate until we returned. At this time she did not have a name. I believe that all dogs will eventually name themselves if you give them time to. So, this was the day it happened. When we arrived back home she was not in her cage. We ran into the kitchen and there she was laying infront of a huge bowl of food still picking at it. She was rounder than she was long and I lost my mind because I was afraid her stomach would rupture. My mother took one look at her and said, "Oh My God she looks like Buddha!" The name stuck! My step brother was young and dumb and he said to us, "I didn't know what to do with her she got out of the cage and she was getting into trouble so I just kept feeding her to keep her from getting into trouble." I screamed at him and called a friend of mine that is a veterinarian. She advised me to not feed her for 2-3 days and start giving her small amounts of water the following day. Everything worked out fine but she did poop for 3 days straight every hour or less. I wish I had a picture of how fat she was because no on would believe me. Buddha had a wonderful life for the short time she lived after that. She died at almost 2 years old from a surgery that went bad. My heart still to this day is hers. She was my best friend and I will always keep her memories with me. She loved going hiking, fishing, camping, and playing with the kids in our town. Our neighbors would send there kids over to our house after they got home from school so they could walk her and play with her in the afternoons. On the weekend sometimes they would have her all day in our yard or theirs. Buddha loved EVERYONE kids or adults. I do know she would much rather be playing with the kids over adults. I do know that she is up there in heaven greeting all of the childeren that didn't get the chance to live a full life either. The children were always her favorite! :)
