Myspace Layouts

One moment they’re rapping “Too fat to strip” and the next they’re singing “I can’t stand to see you hurting.” MTV dubbed them, “spazzed out punk rap.” Call the Bad Fathers’ unique sound what you want, their fans come to their live shows singing and cheering.
“Mixing the free-for-all fun of punk rock with the street sensibility of hip hop & sexy swagger of reggae, Bad Fathers bring an amusing, sarcastic and intelligent project.” URB Magazine

Bad Fathers versatile six- piece joined forces in Iowa City three years ago. The mohawked cousins, Austin Galante and fittingly, Cousin, alternately sing and rap alongside the vibrant rhyming of Juan Hooks. Bassist Miah Handley, guitarist/producer Jethro, and drummer Tye Friis complete the group.

In 2005, The Bad Fathers released their second full-length album titled Angels in the Chamber. The album features the single “Bragging Rights” with Cee-Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley fame. Angels in the Chamber also received contributions from Righteous Babe artist Brian Wolff, Southern Records’ William Elliott Whitmore, and hip hop producer Tack Fu. “Bragging Rights” was featured on Impose magazine’s summer sampler.

Known for their rambunctious partying and frequent nakedness, Bad Fathers have consistently toured the past two years including 21 dates on Warped Tour 05’. Their charisma, boyish charm, up tempo energy, and sense of humor are witnessed in their live show. Known to perform wearing nothing but loincloths, Bad Fathers have shared the stage with Ying Yang Twins, Lil’ Jon, Slick Rick, Rahzel, Lost Prophets, Atmosphere, Gym Class Heroes, Quietdrive, Cee-Lo Green and numerous other fine talents.

Bad Fathers have been featured on Fuse Televisions’ “Tattoo Stories” and “Warped Tour Wrap Up ‘05”. The song “January” from their first LP, Go Poke A Hole In Yourself, was pressed on half a million discs for UPN’s Digital Lounge Series. The song, “Too Fat to Strip,” also featured on Go Poke A Hole In Yourself; charted on college radio charts including Record Breakers, Rapattacklives.com and Insomniac. The track, “Hurting,” off of Angels in the Chamber was featured in the wakeboard movie UPDOG, which was released earlier this year from award winning producer Ronnie Romero. Most recently, the song “Guess What Daddy Wants” also off of Angels, will be heard in the Lionsgate film “College” which is scheduled for a May ’08 release.

The results of their hard work are showing. In 2007, they showcased three times during SXSW in Austin, TX. They have garnered a wide array of national media attention selling over 9,000 albums independently.

Bad Fathers recently recorded a song with Tre Hardson (from The Pharcyde). Other guest appearances, including Ras Kass, will be featured on their spring 2008 release, tentatively untitled. .

Sounds Like:

I'm a Pisces. We shall get that out of the way, so now you can lump me into the great abyss that is the Pisces. Thats right go ahead and make a judgment about who I am and how I'm supposed to act and feel because of what month I was born. I still haven't figured out in the six years I've lived in Iowa City why "Whats your sign?" is about the second question out of every bodies mouth when they meet me.

So about myself well lets see I guess I'm Imaginative and sensitive Compassionate and kind Selfless and worldly Intuitive and sympathetic

On the dark side....

Escapist and idealistic Secretive and vague

Just kidding I copied that from a Pisces website./p.
Most off all I like cookies and pie, and money. I can't have cookies and pie without money unless, I suck up to the baker and don't like being a kiss ass. I guess I'm kinda quiet when I first meet someone. I really don't like offending people right away and I'm pretty sure that I am offensive quite a bit of the time. Not that I intend to be, I just like being silly and joking. I've come to see that a good majority of the world does not see things quite the same way I do. Obviously I'm not by myself in many matters but I definitely get worried that if most of the people that conduct themselves between the hours of 8 am and 9pm knew what I was thinking they would chase me into the woods with flaming torches. I hope that never happens because then I would sneak back into town at night fall, kill them all and eat them. Once again only joking. Kinda.

I finished High school. Never went to college. I've been making music since I was 14. I definitely like to partake in the drinking of booze and of the partying variety of things. I enjoy having tattoo's, not so much the getting of them. Maybe you can say it doesn't hurt but it is definitely not as comfortable as eating pie and receiving a blow job while laying on a double pillow top mattress. I have found that the results of choosing a tattoo only hours before getting it tattooed on myself tend to be just as, if not more rewarding when finished. I'm not sure how this is possible. I wonder if it is the act of trusting your first impulse.

I like green Tea, those bouncy things filled with air at carnivals I'm currently too tall to ride. First of all it's not a ride and second I wanna play too. I definitely got so fucked up on acid once that I cut a six foot pine tree out of a persons yard with a pocket knife and dragged it a mile through the city so I could have it as my very own Christmas tree. I think I will never bungee jump again. I'm still undecided on sky diving. I like reading nonfiction. I feel like if I want fiction I would rather watch it than read it. Thats just me I guess its a good thing we are all different. I'm not religious, and if I were picking teams for kick ball I would not pick any of the hundreds of gods that man has chosen to create and worship because I have a feeling I would have a hard time covering all the bases by myself.

I am in a band called Bad Fathers. The name comes from the movie Liar Liar. None of us are actually Fathers.

THAT'S ME IN THE VIDEO BELOW, STANDING TO THE RIGHT OF THE CAGE RHIANNA'S IN AND PICKIN ER UP.
