Released in mid November Tomorrow Is Today: Australia In The Psychedelic Era, 1966-70 provides a guide to the music, fashion and social developments of the era as well as chapters on Tamam Shud, Wendy Saddington, Spectrum, The Loved Ones, Daddy Cool, Go Set magazine, The Easybeats and much, much more. Published by Wakefield Press and featuring numerous photographs this 208 page book will be available from bookshops in late November or from Melbourne's Community Radio 3CR 855AM for $30.The book was launched with a festival in Melbourne during October and also in Sydney and Adelaide with psychedelic gigs and the screening of rare Australian psychedleic films and documentaries. Visit www.3cr.org.au/tist.html to view photos and videos and listen to MP3s.In June 2007 3CR, Weather Records and Off The Hip will release a double CD featuring 19 of Australia’s finest psych, garage and indie bands covering classic songs from acts such as The Masters Apprentices, Love Ones, The Twilights and Marty Rhone. All of the tracks were recorded live, primarily at 3CR’s live-to-air studio, and a bonus disc of originals from 17 of the bands is also included. The two discs feature tracks from Even, The Green Circles, The Sand Pebbles, ninetynine, Mid State Orange, The Masonic Whores, Amaya Laucirica, The Paul Kidney Experience, Sly Hats, Thee Stag Knights, Tarantula, The Great Apes, The Kleber Claux Memorial Singers, Sun Blindness, The Love Letters, Ian D. Marks, Thee Pink Stainless Tail, King Felix and 3D TV.The double CD will be launched in Melbourne at The Tote on Friday June 22nd. Performing on the night will be The Sandpebbles, Ashley Naylor (Even), 3D TV (Sydney, ex Interstellar Villains), The Love Letters (Perth, ex Summer Suns) and string group Tarantula (last show for some months). CDs will be available on the night at a discount price. All profits from the double CD and launch will go toward keeping 3CR on air.
