About Me

Kfir Shtiviwas born on the 17th of December, 1981 in Be'er Sheva, Israel. He use to spend his time as a child isolated in the schoolyard, but at the age of 9 he started to play guitar skillfully. During high school he began to discover the world of writing and gradually abandoned his dream of becoming just a guitar player. In the end of 1999 Kfir collected the musical material's he had composed during class breaks and with the help of his friend Yoav, Kfir began the recording of his first CD, "Seven Days on the Wound". The first cd was recorded using primitive microphones in Yoav's bomb shelter adding even more ambience to this lo-fi production. The players who performed on 'Seven Days' were all old friends from high school and gave Kfir his first opportunity to write notation charts.During this time there was a talent contest in Be'er Sheva, and it was here were Kfir met Ishay Amir, the manager of LA4 record company. After hearing the first album Ishay signed Kfir to a five album recording contract. LA4 released the album as it was in the year 2000. 'Seven Days' received supportive reviews from all the major paper's throughout Israel, comparing Kfir to Tom Waits and Brassens, the chanson singer from France. In 2002 Kfir recorded his second album "Ehad Ha'am Tango" which was recorded in his private studio where he was living with his parents. This time the production took a major step up in quality as Kfir began experimenting with different recording techniques and more updated equipment. The second album was released by LA4 in early 2003.In 2005, after recording his 3rd album of very heavy spiritual tracks, Kfir found himself at a crossroads and instead of releasing the record he informed LA4 that he was going to take a break and go to India for three months. It was on this trip he decided to scrap the 3rd album and upon his return to Israel Kfir would release a live EP entitled "Live in the Yellow Submarine" and then began the quest of writing all new material for what would become "Kerach Lemaim" (From Ice to Water). Meanwhile kfir decided not to perform anymore and instead of that he is creating more and more songs,He is doing only what he wants and since he is independent he does not need to consider any producers opinion except for himself... During 2007 He recorded he's fifth album "ani ze ata" (I am is you are) You can listen to it on myspace with patience. Right now the album is finished and maybe someday will be released.
