About Me

Born and raised in Jamaica, from the parish of St. Mary, Tad has been an entertainer from an early age. In Tad's own word's "Stevie Wonder, Beatles, Toots, and Maytals, all hold a special memory for me. As a youngster I would sing, dance and imitate the Maytals, people would py to hear me sing." as Tad says "English Pop Music " relly fascinated him...
After coming to England in 1967, Tad was involved with sound systems, "I played a local sound system in 1971 and was a founder of the sound called Viking. Whilst playing the sound I relised that my intrest in music was growing and I broadened my horizon within that musical field". Which led to the Jimmy Daddy Stable, "I was the General Studio hand there for a number of years until I got behind the Drum Kit one day. From there, I moved onto the Bass and singing. I tried every instrument in the studio until I found where I was strongest, which was drums, bass and vocals." Tads first recording with Jim Daddy came in 1983, a song entitled "In Situation". It launched Tad's vocal career, and gained not only local success but recognition within the music buisness.
In 1986, Tad was loking to move on which led him to a producer by the name of Joe G's, who produced Tad's vocals on the successful "Mental Hospital" rhythm, also "Good Lovin" and the ever popular "Love Me Ses". Due to the fact that there were no restrictions on Tad's recording, he was free to work with another well known producer called Anthony Brightly who produced a song entitled "Can't Live Without You" released in the 90's this again proved to be a successful partnership, in Tad's words "He never had the feel I searching for, although the record sounded okay, it was just a one off venture, to find the right sound and combination". The search led Tad back to Joe G's, as Tad explained, "I had some unfinished material there and basically I found them easy to work with artically, I find it makes life much easier when you can flex with a crew, a certain way, you understand?".
Tad also recorded for Top Cat on the Nine Life label which was a part of the same Joe G's crew, songs like "Let him go", "God a who", "Sweet senorita", were all chart busters for Tad in the 90's. Tad is a Jamican living in Engalnd, Tad says, "you can take me out of Jamaica but you cannot take Jamaica out of me, and I am trying to put that in my music". Tad is a Lovers and a Dancehall singer but there is also a Roots and Culture side to him as well.
The present day finds Tad alongside Color T building their studio 'T More'. Tad also has a new 10" vinyl release due to hit the streets any day now on the Solardub Records label, the track 'Why' is sure to be a success showing Tad's excellent vocal skills blending sweetly with a massive steppers backing track to bring a massive Roots tune. Back to his Roots : for all Tad's fans there is a new CD album due for release very shortly, the CD really shows Tad's talent.
