I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a married, father of 2; Amanda is 13 and Ty is 10. I also have 2 stepkids; Lavender is 11 and Matthew is 10. I work offshore as a merchant marine on a 3 week rotation. I love the sea but hate the beach. I love Busch Gardens but I hate Disney World and anything to do with that fascist mouse. I hate staying in and I love going out anywhere (especially if it's to play poker). I love my family and friends and I adore my wife. And I feel like I'm constantly waiting for something to happen...

My Interests

I am a poker player.
I do not fund terrorists.
I do not aid in the laundering of illegally gained funds.
I do not hide from my tax burden.
I do not spend the kid's milk money.
I do not steal.
I do not cheat.
I am a poker player.
Please forgive me because it seems to have become a crime.

I'd like to meet:

Noone romantically. I am perfectly happy with my bride of just over 2 years, Val. I am obsessed with Julius Caesar, so if I could, I'd go back and meet him. But he wouldn't know what the hell I was saying cause he spoke Latin.
All About Me Survey

Music:

All time favorite is Dave Matthews Band. (Going to see him on Sept. 12th, my 5th time, my wife's 2nd). I also like;
The Shins (they'll change your life)
Sublime
Cake
Jimmy Buffet (I'm a sailor)
Eminem
Stephen Lynch (mofo is hilarious)
John Mayer
Dashboard Confessional
Blue October
Jack Johnson
Jason Mraz
the Sugarcubes (before Bjork went batshit)
the Grateful Dead (deadhead from way back)
Norah Jones
Corinne Bailey Rae
and Lily Allen
Anything from the 80's (except maybe the hair bands)
And I'm listening to more country (Toby Keith is the man)

Movies:

Favorite movie all time (drama) The Shawshank Redemption or the Godfather and (comedy) Old School. Anything Steve Carrell (40 year old virgin, Bruce Almighty). I like gangster movies; Godfathers I & II(there is no III as far as I'm concerned), Casino, the Untouchables, Scarface, Goodfellas, Boondock Saints, Snatch, Carlito's Way and the Departed. Used to be a big horror movie fan but the wife doesn't care for them. I like to watch pretty much everything (except inspirational sports movies like Remember the Titans or We are Marshall or crap like that) except Rudy, that was good.

Television:

Don't watch much TV, but I like How I met your Mother and Two and a Half Men. And I try to catch Jeopardy when I can. I also love The Family Guy, Robot Chicken and South Park. Cartoons...they aren't just for kids anymore

Books:

I read as much as I can when at work. Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite. I also like Colleen McCullough, Lee Child, Carl Hiaasen, Jeffrey Deaver, Denis Lehane, and Conn Iggulden. I like History and anything to do with Ancient Rome. And poetry (Bukowski, e.e. cummings, T.S. Elliot)
The Naked and the Nude
For me, the naked and the nude
(By lexicographers construed
As synonyms that should express
The same deficiency of dress
Or shelter) stand as wide apart
As love from lies, or truth from art.
Lovers without reproach will gaze
On bodies naked and ablaze;
The Hippocratic eye will see
In nakedness, anatomy;
And naked shines the Goddess when
She mounts her lion among men.
The nude are bold, the nude are sly
To hold each treasonable eye.
While draping by a showman's trick
Their dishabille in rhetoric,
They grin a mock-religious grin
Of scorn at those of naked skin.
The naked, therefore, who compete
Against the nude may know defeat;
Yet when they both together tread
The briary pastures of the dead,
By Gorgons with long whips pursued,
How naked go the sometimes nude!
Robert Graves

Heroes:

Stephen lynch : Craig

Can't Rant I can't speak, I can't sing I can't run, I can't feel anymore. I can't see the sun but I can't open my eyes. I can't find any fault in her and I can't love myself. I can't stand for her to ...

Seven Miles Seven miles have passed since your memory hit me last. And all our yesterdays look too far away as I'm living the tomorrows I'd hoped we'd have, alone. I forgot where I was going long...

A poem

The Scar   The Silence between us, like a scar.   I learned to never ask about it. It was the 800   lb gorilla sitting on my chest, pretend not to notice and   the ragged, rosy&nbs...
