The 173-mile Garden State Parkway runs North and South, through 50 municipalities in 10 counties, from the New York line at Montvale to the Cape May Ferry in Cape May. A carefully landscaped roadway, the Parkway offers scenic vistas and flowering vegetation along much of its route, as well as provide access to many of New Jersey's State Parks, forests, beaches,colleges and other points of interests.
Consistently one of the safest roadways in the nation, the Parkway has received national recognition for its beautifully landscaped and well-maintained roadside environment. A user-friendly road, the Parkway offers various Authority-operated amenities along its route including nine service areas, nineteen commuter carpooling lots, the innovative Montvale Transportation Center and the world famous PNC Bank Arts Center located in the Authority's 400-acre Telegraph Hill Nature Area.
