About Me

Cinderella: “In My Own Little Corner”Cinderella: I’m as mild and as meek as a mouse When I hear a command I obey.Me: Well I guess I am somewhat mild and meek or rather shy. And I usually do obey…well there was that time my mom asked me to…Cinderella: But I know of a spot in my house Where no one can stand in my way.Me: When you come from a large family that's kind of hard; esp. if it's the bathroom. Cinderella: In my own little corner in my own little chair, I can be whatever I want to be.Me: Unless however you live in Maine; then your options are a little limited.Cinderella: On the wings of my fancy I can fly anywhere And the world will open its arms to me.Me: Actually God met my fancy and flew me all around the world, And was welcomed by many families amidst several different countries.Cinderella: I'm a young Norwegian princess or a milkmaid I'm the greatest prima Donna in Milan.Me: I’m still young and no princess, but wouldn’t mind the opportunity. I’ve been to Milan does that count.Cinderella: I'm an heiress who has always had her silk made by her own flock of silkworms in Japan.Me: No heiress here…I’m lucky to make it through the month. If I were rich I wouldn’t have worms I would have a flock of MiniesCinderella: I'm a girl men go mad for love's a game I can play with cool and confident kind of air.Me: You were obviously mistaken if you thought that was me. Usually I’m the one smiling going completely red in the face cause I have no idea what to say. And to be honest I’m a bit old fashion when it comes to the game of love.Cinderella: Just as long as I stay in my own little corner. All alone in my own little chair.Me: I’m actually not sure if I want to be in Maine the rest of my life, but for now I am content where God has me.Cinderella: I can be whatever I want to be. I'm a slave from Calcutta I'm a queen in Peru.Me: I would like to be an Archaeologist in the field, an art conservator in a museum, a shop owner, a children’s illustrator, an art teacher, a missionary, a broadway star –well hey why not.I’m really a house servant already-usually every time I arrive home. The queen thing-well didn’t you know.Cinderella: I'm a mermaid dancing upon the sea I'm a huntress on an African safari… it's a dangerous type of sport and yet it's fun.Me: Well I do swim okay and my dolphin kick is by far a bit whimsical. Come on I’m from Maine…where orange is the color of everyone’s fall wardrobe. It’s definitely dangerous dogging those deer on the highways and byways.Cinderella: In the night I sally forth to seek my quarry And I find I forgot to bring my gun.Me: Um...Cinderella: I am lost in the jungle all alone and unarmed when I meet a lioness in her lair.Me: Sometimes I do feel a bit lost wondering what God has planned and whether or not I’m standing in it. And well I’ve certainly met many lions along the way thankfully I haven’t been devoured.Cinderella: Then I'm glad to be back in my own little corner. All alone in my own little chair.Me: There really is no place like home and the safety of my Father’s arms.

Ponderings

"Meaningless! Meaningless!" (vanity, vanity) says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless. Everything is meaningless." What does man gain from his labor at which he toils under the sun? --Ecclesiastes 1:1-3...

The Whispering of Grace

I ache inside deep within the crevices of my spirit, a longing to see truth a longing to be fully loved. Yesterday's shame yesterday's blindness has wrapped itself around my mind.  The aching lo...

15 years of Remission.

Rain, rain, and more rain as I stare out the window. The trees are rocking back and forth from the blustery Nor'easter-or perhaps they are chilled and shivering from the wet cold dampness and wishing ...

Receiving the Day

"Receiving the Day" a phrase not really used and a practice really not fully understood, but which slipped into my conversation last evening  This morning I realized they were not my own wor...

A reality check

"A testimony in season and out of season," Puffin's words to me last year. Just like a tree that bears its fruit in season, there is also a time when it's not producing food, but it's still receiving...
