Born a true Libra in San Francisco's UC Hospital to a Portuguese/Chinese Father and a Filipino Mother, Jennifer is a first generation American but takes pride in all her ethnic and social cultural backgrounds.Jennifer first discovered her passion for music and singing in her early childhood grooming her vocals to iconic songbirds such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Karen Carpenter, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, Prince, Bob Marley and many other legendary artists.Growing up during an era where Hip-Hop and R&B was a staple in Jennifer's community, she grew up listening to the beats of LL Cool J, Salt n' Pepa, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, NWA, Public Enemy and many other Hip-Hop movement figures which is a partial stem of where Jennifer's "soul" was formed. The other half is attributed to the sounds of Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Babyface, New Edition, Tone' Toni Tony, Boyz II Men, Mint Condition, Guy and countless others.Although Jennifer's High School did not have a music program, High School is where her first performances took place. Jennifer seized every opportunity to sing and performed in drama programs, rally's and even singing her way out of High School as she belted out the National Anthem acoustically at her graduation ceremony.Jennifer stayed active singing at special events and festivals until her pivotal role in Brown Sol Project. As the only female member of BSP, Jennifer was recognized for her "soulful" contribution and began collaborating with many local musicians who inspired and encouraged her to experiment taking her singing to new heights. After becoming a wife and mother, Jennifer has found new influence and perspective through real life experiences and is currently writing, recording and performing her own music with hopes of sharing it with...you.
