Belinda Oakley

Growing up on the east coast of Australia, Belinda Oakley's formative years thrived on music. The music of the eighties combined with her mother's folk influence and her brother's rock addiction, found Belinda torn between prancing around to Bananaramas 'I want you back', learning every song from her mother's 'Reliving Woodstock' guitar book and spending hours in front of the Guns n' Roses Live VHS practising Axle Rose's stage antics under her brother's strict tutelage.Combine this with eight years studying classical voice, piano and guitar and you have…well you have Belinda Oakley.After moving to Perth Western Australia, Belinda spent 2000-2003 as the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist of the original rock band, Sweet Ordeal. In late 2003 however, after agreeing to do a solo gig to fill in for a friend, she finally took her keyboard tinkering out of the comfort of her lounge room and into the public domain…and as with most things concerning Belinda, when it rains, it pours.Now based in London, Belinda is currently working with the esteemed producer, engineer and mixer Adrian Hall (http://www.adrian-hall.com) and can be seen performing around London, solo or with her band; drummer Jarrod Pizzata (www.myspace.com/jarrodpizzata) and bass player Dishan Abrahams (www.myspace.com/dishanabrahams).a
