About Me

I grew up in an awesome little town that I took for granted until I left it...I think it was something I had to do, but I still miss it. I do like the fact that it has allowed me to get closer to my sister, since she lives in LA, and it's made me realize how much I love and appreciate my parents, so it's not all bad. *********************************************************** I was a firefighter for two years in NorCal with CDF, but had some bad experiences with a douche bag Captain, so now I'm a dispatcher down in Berdoo (still with CDF). I loved being a firefighter, and I'd love to try it again some day, but right now I'm going to school to get my RN. I'm also having a blast dispatching, especially since I'm working nights now...I don't have to be sociable with people, lol (ie: I can sit in my PJ's, get all my work done, then watch DVD's, and play computer games to my heart's conent, hehe). *********************************************************** Couple of important things: 1) I love my family and my friends. They're the most important people in my life, even though sometimes it may not seem like it. 2) I hate the color pink. 3) I like to work and get my hands dirty, but I also like to be girly sometimes too. 4) One day I want to learn how to play a guitar, ride a motorcycle, learn how to SCUBA dive, and travel around the world.

I like pretty much everything...I think I mainly listen to country though. I also like R&B, hip hop, classic, dance, techno, rock, ska, punk, celtic, scottish...like I said pretty much everything (although I don't really like the hardcore rap...that stuff is a lil to vulgar for me, or at least the parts I can actually understand). I do have to add though, that I LOVE John Mayer, The Dave Matthews Band, and my favorite song is My Maria by Brookes and Dunn

Movies:

In no particular order: Fried Green Tomatoes, V for Vendetta, Renaissance Man, The Boondock Saints, Monty Pythons The Search For the Holy Grail, Saved!, Super Troopers...there are more, I'm sure, but I can't think of them right now.

Television:

Friends, Battlestar Galactica, Scrubs, Law and Order SVU, CSI: Las Vegas, Good Eats, What Not To Wear, The Simpsons, Designing Women, Babylon 5, Design Star, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, American Idol (those last three are total guilty pleasures, lol)...channel surfing count?

Books:

I love, love, love mystery books. And I'm gonna say it...I LIKE HARRY POTTER DAMMIT! Yeah that's right, I said it! I also really love books that I read as a kid that seem to have picked up more meaning now that I'm an adult (Farhenheit 451, Walk Two Moons, The Giver, The His Dark Materials series), Fire and Ashes was good, We're Just Like You, Only Prettier (LMAO!)...hell, I've even read Nancy Drew...I also recently read Eragon and Eldest (of the Inheritance Trilogy) and I really LOVE those books; can't wait for the third one to come out!

Heroes:

My Mom and Dad...they're such strong people and I never realized how much I loved them until I had to be 600 miles away from them. And my sister...I never realized how hard she had it until I went through the same thing. She's so much stronger than I ever gave her credit for.
