Now here's the official SUNSARIA bio:
As 2006 dawned Australian based global groove maestro Baz Bardoe left behind his production alias of Psyburbia which remains indelibly linked with the legendary Matsuri label (RIP), and re emerged as SUNSARIA, a captivating blend of vocal hooks, spacey dub sensibilities, dance beats, organic instruments, and psychadelia. With a manifesto of positivity and mind expansion, SUNSARIA is the ultimate expression of Bardoe's highly acclaimed musical vision.
Bardoe has released music on a wide range of international labels such as the UK's iconic Matsuri Productions; Nova Tekk (Germany); Invisible , (USA); Cosmic Leaf , (Greece); Chillosophy , (Sweden), EMI, as well as top local labels such as Creative Vibes, Tempest Recordings , JJJ and many more.
Bardoe's production/performing credits include work with techno and trip hop pioneer Scanner , (aka Robin Rimbaud); former Ozzy Osbourne and Ian Gillan band guitarist Bernie Torme , ; the Damage Manual (former and current members of Nine Inch Nails, Public Image, Killing Joke and Pigface); Josh Abrahams; Rip Van Hippy; Winduptoys; Tempest Recordings artists; Lulea; and even extreme metal acts like Martyrs Shrine .
Bardoe has played everything from festivals such as Offshore, Big Day Out and Falls to dance events such as Earthcore, Rainbow Serpent, and Massive (NZ), as well as venues such as the Hi Fi bar, Sydney University's Manning Bar and the sadly missed Punters Club. He has played to crowds numbering in the thousands as well as a legendary Tranceplant party where cows invaded the dance area in freezing conditions. Of his many support slots playing alongside long time influence Alex Paterson of The Orb , was a definate highlight.
With the track 'Dub on Mars' (a collaboration with 'Winduptoys') gaining extensive national radio play, and a raft of new compilation tracks due out, SUNSARIA will shortly unleash a new single featuring the track 'Life is a dream' which is currently being used as the soundtrack for a regional tourism advertisement on TV. The track features the gorgeous vocals, and compositional input of longtime collaborator Lulea.
SUNSARIA has contributed synth parts to the new recording by Martin Atkin's (Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Public Image etc.) "supergroup" Pigface, with the first full length SUNSARIA release 'Australien' released late in 2009 by Tempest Recordings..
Bardoe was recently also cast in the lead role of a TV advertisement, adding to his considerable body of work as an actor. He holds a degree in history, as well as having the rank of Flying Officer in the RAAF Specialist Reserve.
Bardoe is (almost) always interested in production, remix and collaborative ventures, stimulating conversation and exchanging vegetarian recipes, and can be contacted on:
