Bio: Okay, so where do we start? Well, I guess we're going to have to rewind 9 years back to the Christmas of 1999, when I wrote my first song.
As a 15 year old, growing up in the Midlands (Loughborough to be exact), I learnt that writing songs seemed to be such a good way of telling people 'how it was' without pissing them off too much. And with that in mind, I began writing...and haven't stopped since.
It was like this mental joy ride, where the speeding cars were the songs and the maniac behind the wheel was myself. (NOTE: this is just a metaphor. I haven't ever nicked a car, nor do I condone such a pastime!)
Fast forward 2 years now, to when I landed myself a number 2 spot on the Aiiradio.net music charts. I would say that this was my first real taste of success, especially as votes for the song came in from all over the shop! Apparently, as far as Perth, Australia.
Skip another year or so and you'll see me embarking on what I like to call 'my crazy gig phase of 06/07'. That says it all really, doesn't it? I had always performed, even when I was little, but this time I was gigging about 4-5 times a week, in as many venues that would have me. During this stint, I bagged myself some great support slots with musicians like Just Jack, The Breaks Co-op (Zane Lowe's group) and The Hours. I did a couple of festivals too, namely Glastonbudget in Leicestershire and TogFest in Milton Keynes. This saw an explosion of interest on my website, which boosted my internet presence and kept me stuck in front of my computer for far too long.
I now have square eyes.....
seriously.
Anyway, 140 songs later and I'm now a 23 year old singer/songwriter, bashing the strings on my guitar and singing about partying, relationships and anything else that grabs my imagination.
And now, with my new, self produced, 5 track record 'Hit The Light Switch', I hope I grab yours as well
